All systems have some stinkers in their libraries, some more than others. As awesome as the Genesis is, it too has its fair share of crap that should be avoided at all costs. These games are NOT the 10 worse games for the system. Basically, I'm listing things with glaring defieciencys. Like Sword of Vermillion, it's a great game, but it's on the list because the advertisments made it seem like it would be better.

Last Battle isn't the worst game, but it's on the list for being boring, etc.

I'm playing through Sword of Vermillion now because I remembered the game as being something great back in the day, but now, I recognize it as being a heap. It's sad because it could've been so much more, but the battles that pop up every few steps remind me of Dragon Warrior for the NES. And add to that the fact that the game is no more than: enter a city, get the map, and go through the next dungeon and what you're left with is a very linear and very repetitive adventure. Great music though and decent, for the time, first person graphics.

Awww! C'mon Vince! Sword of Vermillion and Greendog weren't the best but they weren't that bad. You failed to mentioned Kaneko's Deadly Moves and Realtec's Games as well, heck where's Blockout?

I can understand why Sword of Vermillion landed on the list, because with all the hype and the great expectations that were built up before the release, this game probably was the biggest letdown of all Genesis games.

I defended this years ago. It's not the worst games for the systems, but games that are in some way annoying or just disappointing. If anything my second article in the series is more straight-up BAD games than anything else.

Plus when Sword of Vermillion was released it fetched a very high price. It was so disapointing when you actually played it. I hate the menu system too. I'm getting a little worked up just thinking about it.

Agreed, there was no justifiable reason to have the game downscaled so much on the Genesis,
It could have easily been a good port, its not like the characters had a lot of animation frames in the Arcade version :o

Zool is a pretty decent game too IMO. Aero the Acrobat 1 is poor, but the sequel is awesome.

The only game I'd disagree with is Last Battle.

Not a bad article, but I do disagree with a couple of them...

Heavy Nova- As as bad as it seems, once you learn the system it uses (which I did my best to explain in my review), it's still quite playable. The platforming idea was a flop, but the game has enough going for it to make it average. For fighting, I'd have put Time Killers, TMNT: Tournament Fighters or Slaughter Sport (it's a tough call for the title of "Genesis Crap Fighter Supreme" between those three).

Sword of Vermilion- Graphics and music were wonderful at the time. Good controls, and getting to fight the monsters in real-time with sword and magic was a nice touch too. What hurts the game for me is the stupidly high attack rate (you will be attacked every step you take on the overworld maps at times) and the story that does absolutely nothing new. Still, the Genesis could do worse for RPGs... like Super Hydlide.

Wait a min! Trues Lies was a great game, there is nothing wrong with it!

You forgot to put Ms.Pac-Man on list, Controls in that game was very bad, making it almost unplayable. Also Fatal Labyrinth (Boring and outdated), Batman Forever (Stupid game), and Cyborg Justice (very overrated) too.

Greendog wasn't that bad, It was fun.
