I was wondering what it would take to convert a piece of music to the Genesis format? (so it could later be inserted into the game)

the game its for is Mortal Kombat II (genesis) and the music is the ending theme that plays once you beat the game.
(which i have as an mp3, but maybe it would be possible to also rip it from the arcade rom?)

I'm not really familiar with the coding aspect of all this, but i heard Genesis games can use different music engines?
like GEMS and whatnot, so how would i go about doing this?

Here's the theme i'm talking about, its not in the original game at all.

Well, you could get a desktop recorder (this (http://download.cnet.com/Debut-Video-Recording-Software/3000-13633_4-10684791.html?tag=mncol) one is the best IMO), run MKII through MAME and record that particular scene. I'm not at all familiar with arcade games, do they have a BGM option? Perhaps in a debug mode of sorts? Just trying to help... :(

Actually, come to think of it. There should be a MAME variant somewhere that has a sound recorder feature. Nestopia has one as well as several other home console emulators. It should be a common feature in the usual kinds of emulators out there (I.E. not like BSNES which is for accuracy).
