Yes, I am looking to buy a copy of Earth Defense. No, you are not allowed to ask why. *shifty look* >_>
Do any of you know what systems it works on? Does it have lock-out?

I doesn't have region lockout, but you still might have troubles with it working if you have a later Genesis/Megadrive model because it is a unlicensed game.
If you like crap games, go ahead and buy it...

Thank you.
So, it is a risk that it might not work from it being unlicensed... Hmmm.
I shall think hard about if the risk is worth taking. You never know, I might write a review about it if it works. :p

If your Mega Drive doesn't say "Licensed by Sega" when you start up your console, the game will probably work.

Well, we shall see when I get it... eventually. :p
If it doesn't work, I shall be sad. :(

My Genesis has never and will never say "Licensed by Sega" or similar upon powering up for any game ever (except for when a Sega CD game boots).

Then you have an early Genesis 1. The message appeared on later G/MD1 models and all G/MD2 models.

I am glad I have an early Genesis 1. Launch system, actually.

Here's a copy for USD$8, and they allegedly ship to Europe:
Earth Defense on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/EARTH-DEFENSE-game-for-SEGA-GENESIS-rare-game_W0QQitemZ8279886682QQcategoryZ62053QQssPageNa meZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
It's not so utterly horrible of a game. It's just mediocre. Blows the hell out of Divine Sealing, gameplay-wise.
The company that made Earth Defense, Realtec (aka AV Artisan), is a company from Taiwan. Taiwan knows no region lockouts, and their games are usually programmed to bypass the TMSS chips. Taiwan does, however, know about writing very interesting copy protection methods which sometimes cause their games to start up incorrectly on certain models of the Genesis - Megadrive. Buyer beware.
