I need a good 6 button pad. I have the later one (Has a turbo switch, mode button is next to the start button) the dpad hits the bottom plastic surrounding it...its annoying.

How you find the D-Pad for fighters? That looks like a cool pad

Ah yes, The SG propad6! This is My pad of choce. It has the ability to program one or more of the action buttons to either of the L or R buttons, giving You one hell of a custom layout. This is especially handy in games like Shadow Squadron on the 32X:
First I set Z as "Roll Left" and C as "Roll Right" in game's options, then map Z to the Left shoulder button, and C to the Right Shoulder button from the controller, and BOOM! I have roll controls on My index fingers, so My right thumb only has to worry about throttle and weapons.
Be careful about which ones You get though. I bought two of these at the same time, new. One of them handles like a dream, the other uses cheaper, thinner rubber on the dome switches and overall shitier build quality, and is basically unusable.

Its an excellent pad for fighters, its pretty much great for every kinda game.

especially the D-Pad is smooth and doesn't hurt your fingers.

I liked it so much that i got the same pad for my Snes and Saturn.

Yea its cool, Although its very small for my giant fingers. For some reason the jp version is smaller than the rest?

That dpad looks crappy on it like it's stiff or something. I'll just stick with my normal 6 button pad.

Yes I have. The original 6 button controller is GODLY! Everything else pales in comparison. :D

have you seen his Saturn posts?

"GReAteREsT SySTem EvAr!!!!111!!one"

how anyone thinks the Saturn was better than anything else at the time is a mystery to me.

I love those 6 button pads. I really dig how the chord is way softer than on the 3 button pads.

The N64 nor the PSx didn't have much that interested me back then. There are a handful of games for both system that I want to get. I think Sony did a great job with marketing there system and bringing out a ton of games but the N64 did better than the Saturn due to its brand and Sega's constant bungling with the Saturn.

I also have an original... it's ok. I guess I need to get Eternal Champions to get the full use out of it. It feeling so tiny in my hands is the only thing I don't like about it.

speaking of bad controllers, let's not mention the fact that the saturn had the worst 1st gen controller of any console since the 5200.

I don't think the redesigned Saturn controllers were that bad I mean they did pale in comparison to the Japanese version but I could still play SF with it unlike the PSX controller which wasn't SF friendly really.

Are the 6 button pads really that hard to come by? Every Genesis I own came with at least one and I've bought a few more last year. I've never had an issue finding them. Now I'm thinking I should get a couple more, just incase.

The usual 6 button pads are quite easy to find using ebay etc, But it was hard for me to find a official Japanese 6 button that was brand new. If i find a normal one anytime soon i will take some photos that show the size differences.

Got I got two 3 button controllers in the past month.
And both have stiff dpads, i took them apart and yea I guess ist the older dpad (The one controller has the red letters, the other is a normal lookin 3 button one)
I may have to get a 3rd 3 button controller with the awesome dpad. I think its a bit smaller, and the backing of it is on this white cross/circle.
