Hi I'm just wondering: is there any difference between the CDX and 32X? If so...

The CDX is a combination genesis/sega CD. It has both systems in it's casing and is rather compact. Unfortunately, it is also rather costly too.

The 32X is an add-on for the genesis that, when plugged in and connected, allows you to play 32x games, which are beefed up games that use 32 bit processing.

As for which is better? Well, you'll haer arguments from here until doomsday from the people here. Some will tell you the 32X should never have been made, some will sing it's praises. The CDX everyone can appreciate, but the 32X has always been a tricky one.

My advice is to make up your own mind after hearing all the opinions. :)

doh! woops I ment CDX and JVC X Eye. Anyway I own a 32X and was wondering which to buy (CDX and X eye) :) . Though I don't have any games (yet) for the 32X but I know many of them don't use the 32X's full potential :D .

Also are there any differences like PAL and NTSC or whatever?

There isn't too much of a difference between them really. Both have cartridge slots and CD drives. Well, there is a difference, the JVC X Eye has karaoke support. :D

All games, including Jurassic Park and Who Shot Johnny Rock, work on X'Eye. A couple Sega CD games have problems on a CDX. X'Eye can also play Japanese Mega Drive games (the ones without region codes) out of the box. And it supports karaoke CDs!

On the other hand, a Power Base Converter (1) will fit on a CDX but not an X'Eye. Also, I couldn't get a 32x to work on my X'Eye properly, but had no problems with CDX.

yah :( ... I may just keep my genesis v.2 with 32X and CD (will buy CD soon) actually. I really don't like how the X eye looks like now and now you say 32X doesn't work. And there's no way I'm singing or going to get jap. games.
since the CDX can't support Jurrasic park (love it on the gen., not sure about CD) I will never buy it :D . Just because my family loooooves jurasic park and it was my first game... so thanks for confirming my desicion!

I said it won't fit. Taking off the case doesn't count. I'm sure a caseless, or version 2 PBC would work fine on an X'Eye.
