We could use Raul Julia as a new word for awesome, but that meant awesome before awesome was even invented.

If anyone here has a pimped out car with subwoofers that shake the glass of building a mile away they should be required by law to blast this every time they go driving.

Too bad he said "32-bit". Everyone knows the Neo-Geo is a true 24-bit system, not 32. SNK liked to lie in their ads, but not THAT much. So for now I am going back to playing my 40-bit Sega CD.

But otherwise this is full of awesome. :)

Wait, so Sega released a 40 bit system, then released the 32x which should be 32 bit, then they released the Sega Saturn which was also 32 bit? I think Sega needs to get some facts straight. :? ;)

I don't like rap, so this is horrible to me.

Rap isn't music. There's no distinguishable beat or melody to it. :shame:

Rap's origin isn't very admirable. Wikipedia states it started in Africa, but they didn't state where exactly. Most likely to not offend anybody. I'm not saying any of you are idiots for liking it, but I don't call it music.

Though seriously, rap originated from African tribal spiritual chants. That isn't music.

Technically, you're literally correct; rap isn't music, it's a way of vocalizing (as opposed to singing, spoken word, or sprechgesang). Hip-hop is music.

Well, technically the M68k is a 32-bit CPU with a 16-bit bus. :p

- So here's a list with the accurate data:

NeoGeo: 40-bit!
Mega Drive / Genesis: 40-bit!
Sega CD: 72-bit!
32X: 72-bit!
32XCD: 104-bit!!
Saturn: 196-bit!!!
SNES: 4-bit

Well, yes and no. In general, no. But a cappella music can be music. I don't think I've heard any a cappella rap recorded and presented as "music", but that would be possible too, in groups (like one rapper accompanied by a "human beatbox")

In any case, hip-hop most certainly is music, and to suggest otherwise is just silly. It started as an extension of funk and disco.

Have you seen any of the other "Talking Classics" videos? They're hilarious. One of the reasons he is so popular, is probably becaue he is the only comedian who focuses on retro games. Plus, he is just a really funny guy. I suggest you watch some of his other videos, Guntz. I'm sure you would like them.

When you describe something as high brow (especially when you're putting something else down), it makes you sound like a pretentious asshole. It tends to make others think that you only appreciate stuff that makes you feel smarter than everyone else. Just a heads up.

Let me give you a very fitting analogy. Take the Angry Video Game Nerd. The most common complaints I've heard from people is that he only makes tons of toilet jokes and calls every game bad. This is in no way true, in fact it's the opposite for his more recent videos. Ninja Gaiden, Hydlide and SwordQuest have all been extremely informative, legitimately funny and highly entertaining. Winter Games was also quite good but I'm sure somebody will pull some flaws out of his ass to try and prove it's bad just like all his other videos.

Still, I'm happy being a close-minded fool. I don't care for Rap, I never have and I don't plan to.

I made a joke about your sense of humor being broken that you didn't understand. And you got upset about it. You didn't understand I was making a joke. So that "more than a bit of truth bit" was me saying, "I was just kidding before, but maybe your sense of humor really is broken!"

lol... video game nerds talking shit about rap and hiphop. have some of you guys actually listenend to some good rap/hip hop music besides the commercial bullshit a.k.a. 50 cent and his fellow g-unit or Bushido / Massiv here in Germany?

Check out Jedi Mind Tricks, Snowgoons or Ice-T for example. Or thousands of very well done mixtapes by underground crews. Check out the excellent crossover-projects like Bodycount, Biohazard....

What´s always with the hate against rap music? Coming from the punk/hardcore scene, going to shows here in Germany for 5 years now, listening to electronic musik/rap/classic always meant a refreshing and enjoying change for me. As much as I like moshing shit up in the pit, I like to chill out to some decent tunes with my buddies. Stop being nazi about music, jesus....

Great video by the way, and great electro/chiptune track in the background. Could´ve been used for a serious, non-funny track as well.

It's the same as everywhere else though, one or two close-minded dumbass comments from some pretentious kid & an informed backlash from everybody else ensues.

Should I have to like EVERYTHING?!

Let's get one thing straight. YOU people perpetuated the whole rap thing in the original thread. not me. I said "I don't like rap". You people were mortified at the thought and gave me crap about it. If anything, YOU people are the music Nazis for forcing me to like rap. If you deny this, I'm sorry. I can't argue with idiots for very long before I lose my cool.

I'm not taking anything too seriously. You're the one who's getting riled up because people are making fun of your immature and uninformed opinions on an entire genre of music.

Let's cut the bullshit right here. I'm going to re-phrase my original beef with rap, if that's allowed by Musictuitional Law.

Rap is essentially a poem with a beat to it. That barely constitutes as music. Yes, I will admit by the most loose usage of the term "Music", Rap is music. I will take back my comments about Africa, but the high amount of crap Rap (lol) is rather discerning. Simply put, rap is not my kind of music. In fact I prefer instrumental to anything with singing, but I don't hate that.

Will you all stop acting like pre-pubescent kiddies now? Or perhaps 12 - 14 year olds, that's more fitting of the situation. You all call me immature, but you fail to look at yourselves and deny the hypocrisy.

Listen, kid. No one is forcing you to like anything. If you'd stop rage posting for two minutes perhaps you'd understand this. The original exception was taken with your statement that, "Rap isn't music." That is what started this whole thing. To give another example, I don't like ballet. That doesn't mean I would say that it isn't an artform. Which it is. Just like rap.

If you don't want people to jump on you for saying stupid shit, don't say stupid shit. It's not complicated.

Also, I hate being called a kid. It makes me feel younger than I actually am. I'm nobody's son here, I have just as legitimate an opinion as the rest of you here, regardless of age.
