I'm not jumping to any concusions, but it does look awfully suspicious.

I don't know what people's hype is about these 'controllers'. They are controllers alright... if you have a TV. The shape is good for pressing a few buttons, not for playing complex games. It seems that the revolution as it has been coined is just as much a freak show in terms of controllers. The only one to make one that is actually a proper controller is the Xbox 360. The PS3 controller looks like a glorified batmarang and everyone who has read VGcats will know what I think of the revolution controller.

That being said, I don't know if that is plagarism, but it would look awfully hard to justify in court that they came up with the idea totally by themselves I believe if it came to that.

If this is true then it's pretty funny considering Nintendo go on about keeping Revolution details quiet because of competitors stealing their ideas.

Unless that prototype DC controller is positionally sensitive, the Rev (or rather "Wii"...) controller is no rip-off. This prototype isn't even the first one-handed remote-like controller.
Behold, the ASCII Grip.

And the Intellivision gets an honourable mention as well.

The soul of Nintendo's next-gen controller transcends the mere shape of it.

And what about the CD-i's remote, huh? HUH? THAT had an analogue stick, too! In 1993! An analogue stick! For a console!

Nice referance with the ASCII grip Drixxel. During the Playstation days a friend and I used to joke, "Now you can masturbate freely to your RPG's."

I've until now only heard rumours of your kind. Go back to the circus!

Actually, I was merely referring to the remote-like shape. ..But having a free hand would allow you to fondle that silvertongued Intellivoice mid-game..

Too bad it was the worst analog stick in the world, although quite the spellbinding innovation furthering the cutting edge of next-gen menu navigation that made the CD-i a market dominating force to forever be remembered, feared, and worshipped..!! Yes.. yes, that's what happened..

Apparantly these are actually fairly expensive nowadays.

I don't know about you, but Beyond the Beyond makes me so very hot.
