aside from that random post, I got my version 1 to work (yes I had 3, you might have not known), so that fixes my 32X "problem".
But the sound does not work. I have some questions,
1) I have an RF cable for my genesis (somewhere) how do I hook this stupid thing up (i loathe RF cables)???
2) I hooked up my 32X the same way I did with my v.2 (with that adaptor) is it fine if I use those stereo RCA cables into the 32X output? my sound doesn't work :( . why? :confused: :confused: :confused: .

To get sound out of the Genesis 1 you must have a cable coming from the headphone jack that goes to your stereo. Turn up the slider all the way on the Genesis. This is the ONLY way to get stereo sound out of the first model without modding it.

I'm a bit confused. Do you want to hook an RF cable up to the 32X? If that is the case you'll need a Genesis RF adapter that works with the Genesis 2 or above. The Genesis 1 had an RF port built in, but that can't be used when a 32X is attached. A Genesis 1 RF cable won't work, either. Anyway once you get a Genesis model 2 RF cable, you just plug that into the output of the 32X and if everything else is hooked up properly between the Genny and the 32X, you should be good to go with awesome RF video that we all know you love! :)

does RF in the 32X provide sound?
If not, there's no way I'm doing RF, the awsome video is good :) but I hate hooking it up, plus there's static for me :( .

unfortunatley, I think I may have to buy another v.1 because mine aren't working too well
edit: I win, (finally) I got my 32X to work by a repair guide for 32X. Once I figured out that not only my v.1 didn't work, but my 2 doesn't work (with 32X), it was obvious that the 32X was the problem.
And I followed your advice with speakers, it works perfectly (now to get a bass thingy and better speakers than 8 year old speakers...)
