New Super Mario Bros. release dates:
05/15/06 US
05/25/06 JP
06/30/06 EU
What is so fucking hard with a worldwide simultaneous release? There is no PAL format to adapt to, and it sure as hell shouldn't take 30 days to add multi-language support for this game.

I would say that Nintendo hates Europe, but that would suggest they care.
It's more like a non-entity to them.

I don't expect there to be lines of text in this game so I don't know what the hold-up is for a European release. I'm planning on getting this on release, at least you'll know if it's good or not since people will have it a month in advance.

If they're messing with me, I'll mess with them. I'll get one of those fancy flash carts and download the game. They're not worth my financial support. I would have hoped to at least get this game before my vacation.

For some reason I've never understood why gamers in Europe always get fucked over.

You answered your own question.

The game will surely rock, making the wait worthwhile. Import a North American or Japanese copy if you're genuinely impatient, but don't turn to piracy. Hell, I'll buy a copy on the Canadian release date and send it to you personally as long as you're willing to reimburse me the retail price and shipping.

You can thank Sega's dominance for Nintendo's hatred of Europe. It's that inferiority complex Nintendo has going on that drives them. Maybe you can get a card signed by all the representatives of NATO stating that you wished you bought an NES in addition to your Master System and send it off to the Japanese headquarters. Include Sake, and a racist depiction of a black man.

"We should have the PAL and NTSC releases of New Super Mario Bros done in just a few weeks. The Japanese and American release dates aren't too far off."
"Cool, did anyone set a date for Europe yet?"
"...Europe, sir?"
"Yeah, Europe."
"...where's that?"

Yeah, gotta make sure the EU version is PAL compliant for their PAL DS'.

Screw that, I'd just start up a bizarre letter correspondence with them then stop sending letters abruptly. Just to mess with the PR folks' heads.
"Dear Nintendo:
<bodily fluids>
Yours lovingly,
Elusive
PS i farted on this paper ahahaha"
"My Beloved:
My landlord keeps bugging me about the rent. He says I'm late a month, but I paid that cheap prick last week. Joke's on him, though; he's bald. Hahaha.
Yours pennilessly,
Elusive
PS I was eating some Skittles as I wrote this. I've included a lemon one that fell in the envelope as a token of our closeness. Hey, it was an act of God that chose that particular lemo Skittle. It was meant to be, man. Symbolic.
PSS You have lemons in Japan, right?"
"Heeey, Big N:
Why do men have nipples?
-yours curiously
Elusive"
It'd accomplish nothing, but it'd make things interesting I guess

I know that and you know that, but Nintendo might not. They might actually believe there is a difference! :)

Oh, fair enough.
Nobody tell them! It'll ruin the joke! ;)

Can't they do anything better than re-releasing their old stuff to their new handhelds?

How is NEW Super Mario Brothers an old game? It's not a remake or anything.

Yes, they can.

Yeah, it seems impressive, but selling old school games like a new to full prices isn't.

They've done that on the GBA and I hated it... but they haven't done it on the DS except for Super Mario 64 so I don't know what you're getting at.
