Having stereo is definitely a winner on the model 3. Mono is just about my only complaint.

I actually got it to match the wireless controller receiver that attaches to the front. It looks much better on the 3 vs. the 1 or 2 (ha ha).

Some expert may correct me from what I read the composite video is close to a good version Genny 1.

That being said. The s-video to me looks so darn good. Crisper and more vibrant.

Actually, is much better than a Genesis model 1 video...The CXA1645 video encoder is superior to the CXA1145....

Don't some Model 1s (even US models) used the MB3514 with similar clarity tot he CXA1645 (superior depending on other factors -1645 looks poor on some model 2s as recently seen, particularly some VA3s). I know it's fairly common in PAL units.
The only other issue is it's a bit darker than the 1145 or 1645. (though I think the MB3514 lack the vertical bars in chroma that the Sony encoders have)

My Model 1 looks better. It's 2354MC9ner Video Encoder is vastly superior to anything you could possibly do to your Genesis.
