View Full Version : E3 2006: Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
More bonus E3 coverage for you! Now that more details have been presented, we can finally give the goods on the upcoming DS game Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It's gorgeous, 2D, and a sequel to the Genesis classic Bloodlines! You know this one beckons you from afar with all the wicked charms of the Prince of Darkness himself. Lucky for you that we have a nice little preview (http://www.sega-16.com/forum/../E3%202006-%20Castlevania%20Portrait%20of%20Ruin.htm) on it, straight from Konami's press conference!

Little mix-up in the article. Portrait of Ruin doesn't bring back John Morris. It stars his son.
Konami's press release and press conference identify him as Johnathan Morris and makes no mention of a son.

Jonathan (I've yet to see it spelled Johnathan) is the son of John. Remember that Bloodlines took place around WW1. He'd be an old, gray-haired man by the time Portrait of Ruin is taking place. Also, John and Jonathan aren't the same name.
The time frame makes sense, but the name doesn't necessarily mean anything. The only source I've seen about a son is 1up, which isn't exactly 100% confiable.
I'll add it in as a possiblity though. Hopefully Konami will clear up the confusion soon.

Looks really nice. I may just have to get DS now, along with Wii, of course. :)
