Games that only work with pre-Sonic Genesis 1's?

As most of you know, Sega retooled the innards of the Genesis right around the time when Sonic 1 came out. The new, retooled systems displayed the "Produced or Licensed by Sega Enterprises" text upon power up. As a result of this retooling, I have heard that there are a few games that won't work. The games I have heard do not work on anything newer than Sonic are:

-Populous
-Budokan
-Zany Golf

Can anyone confirm my list or add to it?

I think if you add a 32X, the games will work on later Genesis models, sans Model 3.

Some say Double Dragon only works on a pre-sonic 1 genesis, I don't have the game to check.

Pirates like multi-carts generally aren't going to work with the later Mega Drive/Genesis system because that was the point of the lockout after all. I think he means official games.

just grab a game genie.

It basically doubles as a passthrough cart/boot-cart for games that cant pass through any protection codes.

I managed to play a few Accolade games on my CDX using this method.

Also, I'm pretty sure Populous was reprinted and the later copies work on the later systems.
