There should be an article on the Sonic cartoon. I used to watch it when I was a kid, and have some episodes on VHS.

There should be an article on the Sonic cartoon. I used to watch it when I was a kid, and have some episodes on VHS.

But which one?

There's four cartoon series in general.

AoStH: The funny cartoon series with Sonic and Tails. It had the fat Dr. Eggman and Strach and Grounder. The animation quality was horrible. But heck, I love the series.

SATAM: It appeared on Saturday mornings and it was more serious than AoStH. It has the freedom fighters and the animation quality was better.

Sonic Underground: Came out around the Dreamcast, it was a totaly different cartoon in general. The cartoon wasn't popular in general and thus it wasn't complete all the way (about one or two seasons was made before it was pulled the plug).

Sonic X: The offical cartoon from Sega of Japan. This follow suit of the Sonic Adventure games. This is the only anime cartoon series (other than the OVA).

I can do a feature about it since I know a lot about the cartoons, but I want to do it if I'm going to be part of the staff. ;)

Well I think it would be cool to talk about the different cartoons, but the one I'm referring to is the first one you mentioned. I haven't seen any of the others, are they any good?

I already started work on documenting the various Sonic cartoons and comics from the Genesis era. I'll finish it someday.

If you don't want to finish it let me know, I can continue it from there.

While it wasn't a series, Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie, was the best animated Sonic cartoon ever. I loved Sonics american voice(which sounded almost British), and while Tails's pissed me off it still fit pretty well.

Don't worry I'm covering that. I'll work on it tomorrow maybe, I've just been pretty busy lately.

I thought it was around long, long before that. In fact, some part of me remembers seeing it and SatAM back-to-back when I was younger.

I'm not a fan of either - hell, at least the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog show and Sonic X make an attempt to resemble the games. I prefer that over the campy AoSTH and the cash-in that was the Underground show (seriously, stick in three generic characters instead of Sonic and the others and see how little difference it would make).

Anyway, as a complement I could have a go at doing an article about the European Sonic the Comic series, if you like.

I wondered where Sonic's voice actor came from too - I wish I had the DVD to hand, I'd check the credits and look him up on IMDB. I'm terrible at placing accents, sadly.

When in doubt, I guess Canadian.

I think sally kicks amy out of the park. I like SatAM better than AOSTH, and [I]way[I] better than underground. SOnic with siblings? COmeon!

I preferred AOSTH as a kid. I liked the funnier one better, the SatAM one always depressed me.

You know there was a Senate committee that named Sonic AM the second-most violent children's show of 1994, right after Power Rangers? Dead serious.

I will attempt to finish the article about this next week when I find out what days I have off. Work has been a bitch.

How weird. What about like, X-Men and stuff?

I guess because the X-Men series were aimed at a teenage audience, whereas Power Rangers, SatAM and the like were aimed at a younger audience. Plus, they're both campy as hell :D

Lol, seriously? Figures that the government would only NOW realize that the Power Rangers are violent. It's been on what, like 14 years already?

Government...
