A) As megadriveworld said: This thread has become somewhat legendary and although a bit of joke, it is a long running topic that makes us smile when we find it top of the list with a post from Daminmancejin reaffirming his love for Shadow Dancer. It is the little pleasure that truly make life worth living.

B) Daminmancejin ensures we remain discussing Shadow Dancer. This thread has occasionally strayed into the relams of Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3, but generally it has stayed true to it's title and we discuss Shadow Dancer, albeit in a farcical manner now. Other topics have strayed much, much, much quicker from their original intended subject and aren't bundled into the off topic section.

Shadow Dancer...the memories. I never really liked the arcade game that much, so I never got the Genesis game back when it was actually new. A friend sold me a copy for 5 bucks in high school, and I popped it in.

Shadow Dancer is a very good game. I played it again earlier and was reminded that the presentation, graphics and music are great. I nearly beat it but the bosses are hard.

Yeah, the intro is legendary too, love the music playing in the background with the flaming city and the statue of liberty :notworthy: , I only realised a few years ago that it's default setting is the easiest mode too!

It lacks the "magic" and "personality" that only Sega's coin-op development teams provided in their coin-op games of the time. This version of Shadow Dancer was most likely handled by some non-descript jabronies nestled in some corner of Sega who weren't as creative or driven. Probably the same ones who handled the radically different Mega Drive version of "ESWAT". Back in those days Sega hadn't gotten it's footing on their home console market and development efforts as well as they already had on the arcade market which they damn near dominated. It's with the Saturn that they really started giving as much of a damn about their console market as much as their arcade market, hence why the Saturn was a cult classic in Japan.

Back on topic, MD Dancer is still aight though. WAY better than Teh Cyber Shinobi.

I´m afraid Zebbe is right. Either live with a shitty picture without RGB or buy a new TV and hope it doesn´t happen there (but it happens on most TVs).

Or you just learn to live with it. It´s not such a big deal imho.
