Supposedly this game should be easy to get cheap... I can't find anything under $10 shipped and can't find it in any bargain bins. Anyone have a cheap copy or know of a place where I can pick one up for a few bucks?

There's a number of them on eBay within that range, both the Genesis and Game Gear versions. I just finally got my own Game Gear version myself after playing my cousin's years ago for I think $11 shipped.
