"Come for the games, stay for the memories."

Maybe I'm being picky, but I don't like this statement. My justification for bringing this up is that the tagline is one of the first things you see and arguably the most important text on the front page.

What is it trying to say? Come for the games, sure, but stay for what memories? The nostalgia that hits you upon playing them? The memories of the intense forum discussions?

Also, I think this philosophy goes against Classic Gaming's entire focus. The point is that retro games should be played because they're fun, not because you remember them from when you were a kid.

I propose that the two phrases be reversed and the new tagline be "Come for the memories, stay for the games." I think that reflects retro gaming's purpose better and sums up the situation of 90% of Sega-16's readership.

What do you all think?

That's not a half bad idea!

The context is much improved by reversing the motto, I agree.

I'm sort of surprised people agree with me. Happy, but surprised. Now we need some administrative action!

I agree on this 100%

So...any executive input on this, Ken?

I think this "memories" thing should be skipped. I play the games because I like them and my whole Mega Drive experience is just getting bigger every month, meaning my memories make a smaller part of the experience every time I buy a "new" game. That's how I see it, but maybe the memories thing means more for others playing the console today.

We'd have to redo the entire banner, and since bahn was the person who made it, he'd have to modify it. I don't know if he still has the original file though.
