I blew a fuse in one of my sega cd model 2 before. I fixed it by wrapping bare wire around the fuse thus by passing the fuse. It works :). My copy of Vay has problems with that machine occationally but it could just be my copy of Vay. Its a little scratched.

Well its a model 1 that was working fine up till now. Maybe my nephew attempted to attach the genny 2 to it............. it was working fine till I left for school that day.........uck...............
What happens when the model 1 meets model 2? Help ASAP!

You can use any model cd with either model 1 or 2 genesis. So it shouldnt be a problem... it could be a blown fuse but I have no experiance with model 1 cd units.

It probably is a blown fuse if you haven't had any luck adjusting the connection to the Genesis itself as I suggested in response to your other post about this in some other thread. Changing the fuse would require taking it apart, and if you do that you have to be VERY careful not to lose something and to remember how it goes back together.

Ive taken apart many a system. The sega cd should be no problem.
How much do fuses cost?

A few cents or so. But you must get the same type of fuse with the same amp rating. That would be easy to determine just by looking at the fuse as it is always listed right on the thing. You can tell if a fuse is blown if the little wire inside is not present or connected from top to bottom.

Do the smart thing and replace the fuse and not what I did ;). There are a few pages on the net or at least there were about replacing the fuse in the sega cd

Can I get a link or two for that?
Anyways the closest thing I can fing to a fuse in there is teh orange piece next to teh power socket. Is that it?
