Powerbase converter

I have a powerbase converter for playing some old school master system games. I only have one Model 1 genesis and only have an rf adapter for it. I heard that with modification it can be used in a model 2 genesis (by removing the back plasic). Has anyone had any success with that? Is there any way to use it in a 32x since that way I wouldnt have to distroy a part of the converter?

I'd say a Dremel tool would work just as well and look better in the end. :)
