As written in my blog sometime late last year ...

For some reason unknown to me, I am empowered by third-rate, cr@p videogames. Deadly Moves is a prime example of this. I popped the game cartridge into my Sega Genesis early this morning, for reasons unknown, and cursed and pounded my way through it. It's a miserable excuse for a game, the first and only fighting game I know of to make use of a password system for continuing, due to the fact that the game's bad programming and small amount of continue credits make it unfinishable in one sitting. I beat those odds and the game itself, however, with the help of the complicated, 10-character passwords the game spit out each time I defeated one of my foes, who repeatedly made a fool out of me despite their complete lack of anything even remotely resembling artificial intelligence. They were hastily programmed to cheat their pixellated arses off, their jumpkicks -always- out performing mine as they can jump higher and more aggressively than my generic karate hero from America can. The main character is pitiful looking, with an attempted fierce look on his face that comes off as lightly masked fear and an air-based energy fist attack that launches him up and toward the enemy at an intolerable molasses-pace.

His name is Joe, the main character, but his bumbling actions and responces certainly didn't make me scream, "Yo Joe" in his favor. Rather, I was sickened by him. He was useless. He needed me to do anything, and even with my help he could barely walk forward without dying.

The enemy Nick infuriated me the most of them all. Even the final boss, dim-witted Ranker, with his "Uppercat" and "Thunder Reef" garbled-voiced attacks, was no contest to the tricky and slimy Nick. Nick threw a handful of knives at me, stabbed me in mid-air constantly, overpowered my obviously superior jumpkicks, and finished me off with a flambouyant stomp of his foot and a badly voiced "Olé!". Nick's signature move is his series of, as I like to call them, 'gay kicks', which he performs in a breakdance type fashion. He uses them often, and they cannot be countered by jumpkicks. I finally defeated Nick by jumping toward him and somehow managing to get the game's damage priority programming on my side for the first and only time, and throwing him across the screen to his doom. He had been in the middle of his 'gay kicks' at this moment, which was why the victory was so surprising. Previously he had wiped the floor with me at least a dozen times, and at each loss I pounded the bed and spitted from between clenched teeth phrases such as, "If it weren't for those gay kicks, you'd be completely useless!" and "Oh how I hate you, Nick."

Deadly Moves most likely did one thing right - ended a few careers. I didn't even care that I had beaten the game when at long last I did. Ranker proved to be a most disappointing final boss, as I creamed him on my first try, and Nick most likely revelled in the fact that he beat me many times and that I only beat him once. Yeah, I feel like the champion, all right. Who ever heard of Kaneko, anyway? Other than for bringing DJ Boy into the world, which is still one of the greatest arcade accomplishments of all-time.

Nick's theme is pumping from my Sega Genesis this very moment, empowering me to keep a few lessons from the experience and to never forget them. I won't forget what you and your badly-programmed, cheating friends have taught me, you cutthroat little so-and-so. I promise you that.

yes i remember that nick dude even assrape gays are hetroish compared to him,yes those ugly gay kicks,i didnt like the game,the music was okay,in its first glance i liked it a bit then,later the game disgusted me.the boring an inspirationless backgrounds aldo the sprite scrolling is okay.the game game is to crap to be actually called good it looks like a rip,cant even play as a rip,and its even worser then a rip,a cheapend version of street fighter 2,and nick is suposed to be the ken with the purpose to win assrape or blow fun after winning the game,yuck even his taunt is gay,it makes benimaru looks, no that goes to far benimaru is too much of the gayness,altought i never tought it while playing capcom snk @first,i never tought so i just tought it was a thin strange guy.Good revieuw deathadder,altough one of the first words clashes it al Crap.

with game genie you can make the character do better moves,be more powerfull,
one hit kill for cpu,jump higher,move faster,make the color look better,change the color of your character,alot of time infinite time,play as the last boss,play as any character in story mode....

Well, if you actually bothered to read this thread about it that you started, you would see that I do in fact own a copy of DEADLY MOVES (http://sega-16.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19797&postcount=11).

In any case, if you like the game - that's awesome. Don't listen to what anyone else (including myself) says negatively about it. People are bound to insult everything and anything, as it's their nature. But if you like the game, who cares what everyone else says? They can't take it away from you...

Though in this case, you don't actually OWN it, so I guess they wouldn't be able to take it away from you no matter what. :)

today i saw the game and didn't buy it cause i saw other games i wanted too like
superman,Buster Douglas Boxing,thunder force 3,Lion King 2,Space Harrier II they had so many games i wanted to buy and i just left cause my friend wanted to leave so fast cause i was takeing too long inside the game store so i didn't buy anything and left

There are worser things in live besides deadly moves so if you want to buy it do it,Lol it is ps2 in some way how abot street fighter 2 aniversery collection Ugh cough cough Yuck,it can compete with that one.Buy it the game is screeming for daminmance to buy it it has youre name on it the game is specially printed for you.BTW isnt shinobi 2 one of the best games ever --- / palyed it last night youre avater does worth it.

This is one of those games where I rented it when it came out and like it now even though for most it probably sucks. I actually remembered the code for years of not playing it: MP1 XRPT TM7. I know there is one code that is slightly better but there is no way I can remember it since this one is stuck in my head. Maybe MP1 XRP0 JM7?
