Hello Sega-16. I have a small but close-knit gaming forum that I'm looking to expand, and figured I'd extend the invitation to everyone here. It's always nice seeing new fans of classic gaming sign up, so anyone looking to add another daily haunt to their list is welcome to stop by and check it out.

Anyone with forum moderating experience is also appreciated, as we'll likely be looking to add some more admins soon.

Hope to see some of you there.

You can visit the forums at www.heypoorplayer.com/forums (http://www.heypoorplayer.com/forums)

How not at all pretentious. Regardless, thanks for stopping by.

Insulted by a reference to a Yumekobo shooter? I'm sorry you're so sensitive.

Funny how a simple invite brings about trolling, if you're not interested, don't join. Anyone who is, cool, it's always good to see new faces to talk about games from all generations.

It's not a bad forum, but I belong to too many forums already, most for technical reasons. I need a compelling reason to join another forum these days. :)

I know what you mean, that's the main reason I haven't done a great deal of pulling people to my own until now. I've cut down on about half of the forums I used to frequent myself just to dedicate more time to the ones that interest me the most.

Some forums I belong to, I haven't visited in ages. It's especially bad when you have messages waiting... "Sorry I didn't get to this... six months ago." :D

Hmm this site seems interesting I'll probably try posting a couple times and see how it goes. Thanks for the heads up.

It's one of the few boards that's cool enough to carry the Hoff emoticon. That should be reason enough. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5687/hasselhoffp.gif

What's the overarching purpose for your forum? Is it to discuss all classic systems in general, or dedicated to a specific manufacturer or generation like Sega-16? The problem I have seen with sites that try to be an all-encompassing classic site is that it is too much to handle well. I participated in one that just bit the dust, largely drawing little interest no matter how hard we tried. The biggest roadblock to that type of site's ultimate success is dedicated fan boys. You see that the warring NES boys want to kill the battle-ready Sega lovers, and they both hate the Atari crowd with a passion. I have seen it all too frequently, even if I don't fully understand it all. Collecting for all the classic systems, I wish we could all just get along.

We talk about games, new and old.. don't matter what system. You won't be bothered with fanboy wars or any other form of faggotry/terrorism.

Yeah, it seems like we're more about the games themselves than the hardware.

Like dp said it's a small, friendly close-knit gaming forum and new people means new passion...usually:p

I'll have you know i take my Streets of Rage very serious, and Pee Shirt Axel & Dusty Dress Blaze just tick me off.

Where are all these haters at? I'm not calling you a liar or anything, but I've been to lots of forums and I've never seen this with large groups of people. Sure, everybody's got a personal favorite, and there's always a few morons who can't see the forest for the trees. Most people who like games, though, seem to embrace anything that's fun. Maybe you just got a bunch of shit heads who had been banned from all the other forums?

Not to say that the haters automatically pop up at gaming forums, though I have seen a fair share of trolls and flamers. Mainly, my point was that the mindset is largely out there. In other words, a NES/Sega/Atari fanboy simply won't join a multi-platform forum site because it caters to fans of the systems he/she hates. My thought is that some forum sites that try to cover all the systems, like ours did, are more prone to failure because of the polarized gaming crowd that is out there. You know, like, "No way I am even having anything to do with a site that patronizes Atari fans". I don't have evidence to back up my thesis, but suspect that it adversely affects many multi-platform gaming sites.

My thought is that the Atari crowd hangs at AA, while NES and SNES people are drawn to the forums at Nintendo Age, Sega mavens to Sega-16, Sony has theirs, and so on. To go anywhere else would be blasphemy for some (notice I didn't say "all) of these.

Hello Sega-16. I have a small but close-knit gaming forum that I'm looking to expand, and figured I'd extend the invitation to everyone here.

I'm not gonna blast your forum, I'm just gonna be honest.

I visit this place along with three other forums, and I really only have to time visit this place fairly frequently.
