Golden Axe II

I recently bought Golden Axe II second-hand with a bunch of other games, but the D-pad won't work with the game. The start, A, B and C buttons all work, but I can't move the character or select anything on the title screen. This has only happened with this game, all others work with the D-pad perfectly. Any idea why this is and how I can fix it?

Have you tried to hold down the Mode button on your 6-button pad when turning on the system?

That'll solve the problem. Golden Axe 2 is picky with the Six button controller.
