Well wondering if the dear readers could post me some of there most favored shooters for the MD/Genesis. I can't import yet but at some point in the future may decide to so they're open for suggestion to.

The Thunder Force games don't cost too much on average, but at times they can attract daff prices.

Twin Cobra should be cheap since it is so remarkably average.

You should be able to snap these up for rather cheap if you happen to come across them in the wild. I like 'em all.
Bio-Hazard Battle ... highly inventive as shmups go.
Burning Force ... rather Space Harrier-like.
Lightening Force ... basically awesome. Intense and challenging.
Steel Empire ... a vintage-styled shooter with a very straightforward weapon system.
Wings of Wor ... a well-done horizontal fantasy shmup.

I can't recommend hellfire enough. For all the cheap deaths you endure truxton is still worth a look.

I'm a big Granada fan, a free-scrolling tank shooter that tends to get overlooked, and it probably is my favorite just because it's so much fun. It also tends to be very cheap. Thunder Force III and Gairies aren't too expensive -- I've grabbed the Japanese versions for under $30, and the US ones are cheaper. They're both great games and my favorite horizontal shooters. Master of Weapon is a fun, Truxton-y game that should be available cheap on import as well. There really are few "expensive" Genesis shooters -- V-V, Greylancer, and Troubleshooters 2 are all I know. Four if you count Panorama Cotton.

Musha Aleste costs exactly one soul and a pound of flesh as well.

Forgotten Worlds
Steel Empire
Whip Rush
Sol Deace
Afterburner II
G-Loc
MUSHA is worth the money.

Almost all of the Genesis shooters I own were found at $3 or less. These should be $1.99 each if you see them at a GameCrazy:
Fire Shark
Bio Hazard Battle
Hellfire
Granada
I also got Thunder Force II at one for $2.99.
Also, I paid $2.50 each at various game stores for my copies of Steel Empire, Truxton, Twin Cobra, and Wings Of Wor, and $3 for Phelios.
