Seeing the Got-Next SF drawing reminded me: we haven't had a contest here in a long time. About due for a new one?

I'd love to do one, but we don't really have anything that could serve as a prize. :(

What types of things have been given away as prizes in the past?

If member-donated items are accepted as potential prizes, I think I might have a few duplicate Sega items lying around....

Our first contest gave away a model 2 Genesis with a sealed copy of VectorMan 2. We don't need something so big, but I'd really like to do another one. The first one was really fun.

Think I might have an extra set of third-party IR controllers for SG, an extra Game Genie, and maybe an extra MegaKey...dunno if any of that's worth bothering with....?

If we can gather up some complete items, like a GG, converter, or controllers, etc. We could make it worthwhile. I'll check my closet and see what I have.

What sort of contest is it? High score? Writing?

Will the winner be obvious or do we get to do a long winded vote?

I don't think the contest format has been determined, unless Melf has something up his sleeve.

We've done a trivia and a writing contest before, so I doubt we'd do those again.

As a totally unbiased person who just happens to have made his living through writing for the past two years, I think the contest should be of the essay variety.

An art-contest would be great.
Just think of the many awful Genesis-box-arts Sega has made...

What if Sega-16-community had the chance to make those crimes from the past undone?!

Imagine...Wonderboy in Monsterworld with a cover not drawn by a 2 year old chimpanzee!!!
