I know I can think of one, Street Racer (not exactly but still close). Are there any more race games wich have the same sort of features like mariokart or wacky wheels?

Also somewhere in Internet you can find beta version of unreleased Wacky Racers. Worth checking.

If only we had the source to street racer, we could make SONIC RACER!!
Many reviews say that Sega & Sonic All-Stars Racing is a blatant Mario Kart copy and I hate them for that. It's similar but its not just copy of the 3D Mario Karts and that statement overshadows everything that the game has to offer.
Mega Man Battle & Chase is also a pretty similar game to the Mario Karts formular but I think that one wasn't released in the US.
But I think you meant 16-Bit games when you asked about clones. I immediately though of B.C. Racers wich looks similar with mode 7ish graphics but doesn't have the popular power-up system. So I don't know if that counts.

yes, I mean for the 16-bit system only so B.C. racers doesn't count. sorry for beeing unclear.
Anyway, I think there's only Street racers to fill that gap right? Do you guys consider that game better then say.. Road rash 1, 2 or 3? I would like to have a race game in my collection that is most fun to play, mariokart-isch and great with 2 players. Only one of them..

Personally i feel that Street Racer can't be compared to the Road Rash games, because imo they are just too different.
But why not try out the Street Racer rom and see if you like it?

Street Racer is okay, but it's no Mario Kart. Not at all.
yes, I mean for the 16-bit system only so B.C. racers doesn't count.Really? I was refering to the two games above when I asked about that 16-bit thing and meant that B.C. Racers didn't count because it was not really like Mario Kart.
It's a 16-bit game after all, since it's on the Mega CD. You ment the 32X version, right?

That could be a good pirate game. A hack of mario cart for the genesis/mega drive.

ah, I didn't know there was a cd version too! But let me be more speficik, only genesis games. no add-ons whatsoever. But I think this thread is a dead end since there aren't any other games wich look and play in a sort of way like MK or WW.
I find this really weird, specially when u think that back in the day, snes really had a gem in their hands with MK so you would expect sega had come up with an answer to that.

There's Crash Team Racing on PSX, one of my favorite racers, if you're not just sticking to 16-bit.

Certainly one of the best kart racing games ever, and also one of the PS1's best titles it has to offer
Regarding kart racers on the Genesis, the only one I know is Street Racer
