Forget about 'best game ever' - let's all take a moment to let loose with our favorite game ever, period. Doesn't matter how much it's flawed, there's a game for each of us that is #1 in our hearts. For me, that game is....

Cheater. :p
It is difficult to pin down just one game, but honestly, I think right now that it would be Soldat (http://soldat.pl). I've been playing it pretty much daily going on three years now with little sign of stopping or tiring of the game. As long as I can find good people to play CTF with, it will always been fun and challenging to me.

Hey, whatever gets'r done for you. Myself, I've never been too into the Harvest Moon franchise.. I really enjoyed the Game Boy release, but after that my interest in virtua farming faded.

If I flipped a coin with Daytona USA 2001 on one side and Rocket Knight Adventures on the other, it would land on its side.

I can't pick one, but I can pick a trilogy. Project Zero (Fatal Frame). The most chill inducing games ever. Late at night, playing with the headphones on. The stories about the strangling ritual & the crimson butterfly are in short, literary horrific. Just going through 3 The Tormented now that I had to shell out £105 (about $180) for a PS2 to play it on.

Rise of the Triad. Not the greatest game ever, but this game was a labor of love and it shows through out the entire game. I have so many fond memories of this fun game.
The Dreamcast Daytona is like my second favorite Dreamcast game. Oh so very good and fun. :) Streets of Rage 2 was pretty good and is perhaps my second favorite.

Sticking with the Daytona USA 2001 theme, I love how people complain about the dreadfully twitchy handling - the PAL and American versions have a handy-dandy 'Sensitivity' slider in the Control Options menu, while the Japanese version does not. Now try to guess which version is most commonly found floating around torrent trackers. XD

With Daytona USA 2001 I always just held the analog stick UP and rotated it around in a semi-circle to turn. Works like a charm.

Yeah I know, I turned down the sensitivity way down. The Japanese version also has glitchy two player split screen! Amazing game.

Blood. The greatest Duke Nuke 'em clone ever made. Wonderful gameplay, awesome level design and just everything you could want in a late 90's FPS. I kept with Windows 98 until early this year souly because I didn't want to lose DOS (and the ability to play this game). The Underdogs are also hosting free downloads of it, which proves it's awesomeness.

Blood is a neat FPS. Pity that the sequel is pretty well mediocre, but that pipe debris.. ah jeez, that amused me to no end. Shoot the computer? Made of pipes. Axe the table? Pipes again. Brilliant!
Super Metroid.
Definitely. I can play this game endlessly. Finding opportunities to use the advanced techniques developed through the years makes for moments of fresh spectacle. Hell, after finally nailing the mockball, it's so fun just to let'r fly whenever possible. My favourite game.

Damn, that's an awesome game. Among my top ten most certainly. Dual ships, boss fights, bonus rounds, scrolling stages.. the best Galaga there is.
