Where is a good place to buy a Saturn mod chip? I bought my last one from racketboy.com but is there a place that sells them cheaper than $29.99?

I beg to differ.

Racketboy's chips are ok for a 32 pin model 2, but rob's chip @ consolegoods.co.uk are fantastic for any model, and cheaper to boot. I got mine sent from the UK to the US for 27 shipped.

Everything but a 20 pin model 1 from what I understand. Only way to find out is to count the pins on the cable - pretty easy. =)

I've done a lot of reading on this and I agree with Lastcallhall. Racketboy seems like a great guy and seems to really support his chips, but the problem is just that...he seems to really have to support his chips. He seems to get a lot of duds in the batch, which he seems to gladly swap out, but that's only after the buyer has spent hours trying to figure out why they can't get the chip to work, etc.

The ones from rob webb in the UK seem to have a great rep...that's where I'll be buying mine...

The racketboy chips are also on an extremely thin PCB which I've managed to snap in two installing, It's a fine chip once installed.

Rob's just seems to be infinitely better made, however it does require some modification to use on certain Saturn's, check the instructions on his site and make sure it's a mod you're comfortable doing.

I just got and installed a Racketboy chip, and yeah the construction is utter shit. Hope the thing lasts, but the PCB is thinner than a credit card. It was all I could do to keep it from cracking.

I never had problem with the one I had in my other Saturn. I had it in there for about 3 years never had a problem. I traded it off I wish I never had so I get to start my Saturn collection all over again! :p

I have a mod chip for trade, listed in my trade list. I don't know too much about it, other than I pulled it out of a circle-button saturn.

To install Rob's chip was easy for me and I suck at soldering. It's minimal and the instructions are well done.

Never installed a racketboy chip but I did notice most of the modchip problem threads involve the rb chip.
