I've got a nomad too. It's a very nice system. My only problem is I have to play it inside since I don't have a battery pack.

You're not missing much by not having the battery pack, unless you don't mind going through 6 AA batteries every 3-4 hours.

Games I can't get to work on my Nomad:
Forgotten Worlds (someone said you have to hold Mode button down)
Golden Axe 2 (although some say they have had this work)
Others I've heard won't work:
Populous
King of Monsters
Decap Attack

X-Men works fine until the last level.
I don't know why people say Golden Axe II doesn't work. I've tried multiple copies on 2 different Nomad systems and always got it to boot, with the only problem being the 6-button incompatibility.
I can vouch for Forgotten Worlds and Decap Attack working fine; don't know for sure about the others.
Sega's old website said "the only game known to be incompatible [with Nomad] is X-Men".

X-Men definitely works. I think the games have to come from the first generation or so for there to be a compatability problem, as all Genesis models from 2 and beyond have somewhat different innards than the original thus causing issues with some early games.

Early EA games like Budokan don't work due to a lockout issue, but that holds true for any Genesis other than the original.
