Ah the '90s. A time when there were actually several football franchises from which to chose. Some were great and some outright stunk, but hey, that's what made having more than a single selection so cool. Acclaim tried for years to compete with the big guns, and while its Quarterback Club series often showed signs of brilliance, most of the time it was just average. We have a review (http://www.sega-16.com/2006/08/nfl-quarterback-club-96/) of Quarterback Club '96 to get you in the mood for Sunday's Hall of Fame game, and somehow I think I already know which one is going to be better.

I have the 32X version, but never got into it that much. I recall the Dreamcast versions getting critically panned.

See, this is what's funny. I played NFL Quarterback Club '96 before I'd ever played Madden, and when I finally picked up a Madden 95 I was appalled at how horrendous it was compared to Quarterback Club. Because of that, I went and got the NFL Quarterback Club 32X just to get a better version of what, IMO, is the best football game on the system.

But everyone who's played Madden first seems to think it's heavenly descended...

I could never get into this game or Madden. Or Joe Montana for that matter. Blitz is the only NFL game I can really tolerate.
