So I've been using one, well on the sides, and it's working OK -- I only have one import and planning on buying more :D Currently, the only import I have is a loose cart of Bare Kunckle and I was wondering if any carts where bigger than it, sans Panaorma Cotton and Darius 2.

Now I just have to add a country and 50/60hz switch on my Genesis 1.

If Cotton (or any other Sunsoft cart) fits then you'll be fine. Is Darius a different shape as well? Picture?

Of course as you probably know, it is best to remove the top of the Genesis and file it that way so you don't damage the motherboard. Also remove the hinge doors of the cart port as you do this. I did this to my Genesis back in the day and later to my 32X. Both look pretty damn smooth.

Why would you want a 50/60Hz switch? Playing PAL games is about as exciting as going diarrhea (which I admit can be kind of exciting). Plus you won't find many (if any) 50Hz TVs in the US. I'd put in a JP/US switch instead to play certain JP games without a Game Genie.

I just well, how do you remove the damn light on the Genesis one case? I just well, took the top off, put the top on a piece of paper and moved it around a bit, but I want to take the case completely off. There's still a slighly tight fit. Any way to, well smooth it out so it looks better in the end? It's presentable, but I'd want it to look factor.

Oh wait, I misunderstood about Darius, it is not as big as the sunsoft games, but slightly larger than any other MD game. I'm going to buy a PAL Super Fantasy Zone anyway.

It's been a looooooong time since I've had my Genesis apart, probably over 25 years. You could always cut the wires and resplice them if you are good at that kind of thing, but I don't recall what I did.

PAL Super Fantasy Zone does not require a switch of any kind. Japanese version is better... just because. Nobody likes Europe. Europe is soooo.... European or something. You are required to worship Soccer if you play PAL games. Why do you think we left? We didn't want to worship soccer, so we said "Fuk dis shiznit" and left and started America.

Just straighten the legs of the LED and pull... like this:

It is true that Europe seems to bo ravaged by some weird Soccer worshiping disease :yuck:
I'm just lucky enough to be immune.

Joe Redifer: PAL and Europe isn't only bad. We have Alien Soldier, (almost) no ugly cardboard boxes and Sweden - the cold country with beautiful women.

So Joe, why do you have PAL Splatterhouse 2 then?

OK, looking at MMMmonkeys guide, do I need to follow the instructions on the second page for the country switch -- I don't really want/need a 50/60 switch.

Next week I'm going to buy some of the stuff needed to get this done.

What kind of wire do I need?

I have a PAL Splatterhouse 2 because I bid on and won Splatterhouse 2 on eBay. The f*cker sent the PAL version instead. Pissed me off. The game isn't great enough to worry about replacing.

Be sure to get the kind of switches they specify. Don't get just a single pull/single throw toggle. Unless you don't mind having two of them to do the job of one switch. You'll also need soldering skillZ.
