Whats up? :D New guy from the UK here!
I just wanted to say how nice this community seems, and I'd love to be a part of it! :)
I haven't really been collecting Megadrive games very long, I have only 19 of them infact, but I am very much interested in expanding my currently mediocre sized collection :P
I wasn't really old enough to have my own megadrive when I was younger, infact my first console was a Playstation :O but I was given one shortly after by my Grandmothers neighbours across the street when they went to College including Aladdin, Sonic 2 and one Master system! SCORE
I liked these systems a bit better I think, but lack of games (I couldn't buy any) meant they went unused for awhile.
However once my PS2 (even later D:) decided it didn't want to work anymore, I decided to see if the Megadrive was still going and lo and behold it did! :) Since then I have endeavoured to collect some quality games, on abit of a budget (at Uni you see xD)
Anywho I'd thought I'd better begin by posting what I have so far:
Aladdin
Altered Beast
Bio-hazard Battle
Cool Spot
Global Gladiators
Mortal Kombat
Mega-games 2 ( rev of shinobi, golden axe, streets o rage)
Phelios
Road Rash
Shadow of the Beast
Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, & knuckles
Street Fighter 2 CE
Strider
The Lawnmower man (at least it was 50p!)
The Terminator
Thunder Force IV
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
So yeah :) hi
P.S Does anybody know if a Japanese Megadrive would work on UK TV's with PAL games? I hear mostly newer TV's have NTSC support, and surely the power packs are interchangeable? I might make a small gamble with some Crimbo money

Welcome. Sega-16 is by far my favorite gaming forum on the web. Very open and non-hostile.

Welcome to the board. It's always good to see someone who was too young to play 16 bit games back in the day become a fan in this day and age.

Welcome!
College was when I started seriously collecting too though I had a pretty large batch to start with from when I was little. I sold off all of my NES games back then to buy more games after I got my Genesis but I held on to the Genesis ones thankfully.
It just got too expensive to be buying new games so I ended up buying old ones!

They have a certain charm to them don't they?
Most people my age who see I have a megadrive always go "Oh wow thats so cool!"
Retro collecting consoles seems to be sort of in I know a few people with N64's and Gamecubes, maybe its just like Obviously said, we're at Uni and its cheaper than those PS3's haha
Hmm Ecco, Kid Chameleon, Road Rash 2, Streets of Rage 2
Watching videos of Kid Chameleon I don't think its quite up my alley, I might get Ecco seeing as I hear alot about it, Road Rash 2 probably not but Streets of Rage 2...yes, oh yes do I want this! What about Streets of Rage 3 is that any good?

Streets of Rage 2 is a must-have. My favourite Beat 'em All after the mighty Final Fight.
SoR3 sucks in my opinion.
Congrats on getting a Mega Drive and playing with it. It belongs to the golden era of videos games.

What a coincidence! I am also currently bidding on Final Fight :D
Why does SoR3 suck?

Boring level design, horrible techno music and graphics are much inferior to SoR2. It's a step-back from the 2nd game.
In order to play Final Fight you need a Mega CD, do you have one?

I must be thinking of a different game!
Ah I see, Fatal Fury
...
Whoops! Sorry about that :D
The FF threw me off there!

OK! I never played Fatal Fury on the Mega Drive, as it's originally a Neo Geo game, and an acquired taste if you're used to Street Fighter 2. Tell us what you think about it if you win the auction.
Other great games I would suggest:
-Revenge of Shinobi
-Shadow Dancer
-Shinobi 3
-Thunderforce III
-Thunderforce IV
-Ghouls n' Ghosts
-The Chaos Engine
-Golden Axe
-Streets of Rage (the 1st one)

The first Fatal Fury on Genesis is a little meh. Fatal Fury 2 is much improved though and my favorite fighting game on the system.

Welcome to the forums, if you like a good shooter try and get protectors it's really good I personally have the us version which is contra. One thing I find really hard being a collector is finding the rare games cheap sine theirs not alot of retro shops or car boots near my area :(. Anyway I wish u luck on increasing ur collection ;)

Welcome Gibbs!!!
Looks like you need Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master in your Mega Drive collection. Thats the best game that you don't have, its cheap as hell, and you'll love it if you liked Revenge of Shinobi on Mega games 2. Youll thank me later!
I would also suggest looking into a Sega CD add on, Both Ecco games are awesome on that(as well as several other amazing games).
