Resident Evil 5 announced for PS3 & Xbox 360

Pics look amazing, but I hope it doesn't take another 3 years for it to come out.

I believe ol' Redfield is indeed that man. But like the Killzone 2 trailer, this also looks unmistakably like cutscene.

Of course, RE4 went through several complete overhauls before it saw a final release, so that same madness might happen to #5. Then again, I've heard talk that Capcom have settled on applying RE4-style gameplay to RE5, so presumably that will quicken development, and if this trailer is to be believed, work is underway.

The build of RE4 where Leon was wandering around a mansion battling his own hallucinations looked pretty nifty.. but I'm glad Capcom did what they did with the final product of Resident Evil 4.

I would hope that since this is most likely running on a modified RE4 engine, it should come out a lot sooner. You never know, though.

I hope that RE5 is eventually announced for Revolution.. if Capcom is so concerned about maximizing revenue, they may as well go for the complete mutliplatform release, and why exclude Nintendo?

I was actually quite surprised by the haste with which Capcom have pumped out this trailer. Then again, with the great critical and commercial success of RE4, it would seem foolish for Capcom to neglect the franchise any longer than absolutely necessary. I await this one eagerly..
