The first thing that comes to my mind is Tails Adventure. It's a pretty cool little game, though nothing like typical Sonic gameplay (more items and puzzles).

- Defenders of Oasis
- Mickey Mouse Games (Castle & Land of Illusion)
- Lucky Dollar Caper Starring Donald Duck
- Both Shinobi games
- Gunstar Heroes!

Get a Master Gear converter, and you can play MS games on your GG.

Dynamite Headdy - it's actually not just a port of the Genesis game!
Vampire: Master of Darkness - awesome Castlevania clone
Sonic Triple Trouble - the best of the 8-bit Sonics
Halley Wars - great vertical shooter
Jurassic Park - different from all other JP games
Tempo Jr. - sequel to the best 32x game
Woody Pop (tee-hee) - Arkanoid clone

Yes! I remember this game now! It definitely rocks and should be in any GG owner's collection.

Sonic Triple Trouble was the first thing that came to my mind.

Cool Spot wasn't that bad either. It's like the SMS version, except with worse music. Surf Ninjas was based on the terrible 90's movie of the same name, and as such contains more action than the movie. Super Columns is an okay Columns game.

Shining Force Gaiden 2: The Sword of Hajya.

Okay so there's no free roaming in the game, but it rocks anyway. I'd recommend Gaiden 1 and 3, but neither of them ever came over from Japan so unless you're prepared to go Japanese...

Failing all of the above, grab a Master Gear converter and play Master System games on your Game Gear. Often they're cheaper than Game Gear games, and can be better than the actual 'real' Game Gear version of the game - for exaple, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a lot easier in the SMS version because you can see more of the surrounding area than in the Game Gear port. This makes the first boss tolerable, ironically. OutRun is also far better as a Master Ssytem game than the scaled-down Game Gear port.
