Am I right on this?

If I use a mixer cable from the back of the Sega CD to the headphone hookup on a Model 1, and I plug in speakers into the RCA Jacks... I'll get Stereo sound for my Genesis, Sega CD and 32X?

EDIT: Even if I have mono AV cables?

OK, I found out everything will work great, but what about the 32X and it's PWM channels?

I hear plugging in the combo with all it's wires unleashes a power beyond any of us have ever seen

I'd like to know about this too...

It's just the 32X PWM channels that I am now curious about.

I hear it sounds fine to begin with and I dont see the reason to improve it at all.

Does the regular Sega CD sound different from the CDX?

The 32X's PWM channels will go out the Genesis headphone jack just like the Sega CD audio does if the mixing cable isn't used (but if you hook it up in mono or RF you only get the right side). If a mixing cable IS used, then the PWM still goes out the Genesis headphone jacks, into the Sega CD, and then out the RCA stereo cables. If the PWM didn't go out the Genesis 1 headphone jack, it would be 100% impossible to use a Genesis 1 with a 32X in stereo.

The above text by me cannot be challenged as it is fact!

Fine, but what about a 32x/segacd setup with a genesis 2? And what the heck is PWM anyway? :daze:

I think the rf output for Megadrive 2 is stereo anyway...

No RF output is stereo... it may mix both the left and right into the sound output, but it is mono.

With a Genesis 2 and 32X, all of the sound goes out of the 32X. The Genesis 2 does not have a headphone jack so it's irrelevant. A PWM is the 32X's special sound channel. It stands for "Pretty Wicked Music".

Does anyone make a 1/8 to 1/8 cable that ISN'T six feet long?

I think the rf output for Megadrive 2 is stereo anyway...

The AV-Out port outputs stereo sound - the RF cable, however, mixes the L and R channels into one lump.

That's why RF is the lowest quality connection: all the signals from the Mega Drive are squished into one single signal and sent to the antenna port on your TV, meaning they can interfere with each other and degrade their quality. A SCART connection, however, keeps each signal (Red, Green, Blue, Sound Left, Sound Right etc.) on a seperate wire, meaning there's very little chance for interference.

Thank god I found a 2ft 1/8 to 1/8 cable on ebay. Why would I need a six foot long cable?

Just in case your Genesis is on the top shelf and your Sega CD is on the bottom shelf... DUH!!! :)

Anyay the Sega CD came with a 2 foot or 1 and a half foot cable.

Well, I just bought a 2ft cable. All I can find locally is six feet cable and this was actually cheaper! Now I got to find some cheap and good speakers.
