Is anyone else having a hard time beating this game? and I'm talking about the people who actually (DID NOT USE SAVE STATES >:(...). Every time I finally find the pattern of the boss, the next one is just as hard, still loving the HELL out of this game though,

I've gotten pretty far in it, but that crab dude keeps owning my ass now.
Love the game though, freaking masterpiece.

I find the game easy on the very easy setting.

I haven't beat it yet. Got pretty far though, IIRC correctly it was some sort of flying boss like a helicopter or something that keeps pwning me.

I've got the Japanese version but didn't dare play it yet. I'm afraid of the visualshock, speedshock and the likes :(

that's pretty much the whole flow of the game, getting a boss pattern down, then move on to the next boss and get your ass beat. play on very easy to learn the patterns and eventually switch to super hard and the game becomes a pretty easy rhythm.
also i recommend to someone who's just starting it to get good with the lancer, you can do away with many bosses in seconds with a well placed shot with that weapon

Yes. First and foremost, Super Easy has unlimited continues and passwords, while Super Hard has only three continues and no passwords. Zero Teleport takes less damage on Super Easy and there are more HP Max-power ups on that difficulty. The bosses are easier to kill as well.

well that's a disappointment, well still try to beat it on superhard just cause its still so dam awesome.

beat all the bosses easily till the 7 forces

I'm stuck after the cat, in the ocean. Damn i hate the cat thing. I lose too much there to do anything afterwards.

After the cat, shoot the blue robot in the water with the big laser. The floating mines may contain energy.

Also I'm surprised nobody mentioned the speed setting feature of the game... I'll leave it to other people to tell/find out how to use it, but it makes bosses much easier.

Pause the game and press left/right :P. Only for Super Easy IIRC.

how are we supposed to find this code out without being tipped?

It's not a code, it's a normal game feature, even mentioned in the manual I think. When you pause the game, there are arrows showing the setting you are at.
