This is quite weird... no sound come from my japanese megacd v1. Only some strange pops and clicks that varies, I think, when cd is spinning or not. Even if there is no cd inserted I can hear these clicks (3 or 4 times per second). Japanese megadrive works ok, the sound is perfect. I use rgb cable, but even with the composite is the same. What it could be? :daze:
And one last question... does a pal megacd (or usa) works ok with a jap megadrive?
Thanks

I can only answer your second question. You have to modify your Jap Mega Drive to use it with a PAL Mega CD or Sega CD.

No you dont. All you need to run any megadrive with any mega cd or sega cd is a cdx cart. You could maybe mind one on ebay done by same guys that did action replay cart for megadrive and snes. hope this helps cheers seganutt!

what audio out are you using?
The RCAs on the back of the MegaCD (with the mixer cable going from the genny model 1 to the MegaCD)?
Or some other method (model 2 genny, only using the Megadrives audio out, so on so forth)
I ask because if you only use the audio off the cables you plug into the megadrive, then the issue is probably in communication. If it is via the audio pins of the MegaCD then it is an issue directly on the sound daughter board.
If you're using the cables off the megadrive, try using the MegaCD RCA jacks instead. If the problem persists, I can probably figure out what it is.
