I'm aware what the result is, but is this the same process as for contributing to the editorial review section?

No, you should post here to check if the game you're planning to review has been claimed/done yet: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?51-Upcoming-Reviews-amp-Features/page56, then read this: http://www.sega-16.com/Sega-16%20Review%20Manifest.php, and send your review here: http://www.sega-16.com/contact.php?toname=Ken+Horowitz.
To increase your chances of getting posted, take a healthy amount of screenshots, zip them up in a folder and upload it to a file hosting site. Put a link to the screenshots with your review.
I have already started my Reader Roundtable submission, I'll have it in soon.

For the review roundtable you simply send a short paragraph about a Genesis game you've played this month. Not a full review, just a few sentences about what game you've played, and why. You can tell something about the game, about the circumstances why you've played it... etc... Don't worry about what game you should talk about, since in an RR it's okay if several people talk about the same game.
Then you can send the resulting paragraph to Melf via email or PM. No need to make screenshots for a Reader Roundtable submission - that's only necessary for full reviews.

Sent in my entry early this time.
*looks at the RR publication date*
... Super early it seems.

Is this still happening, or has it been put on hold?
Put on hold until we have the site back. :(

Presumably you feel it too tacky to place them here as a no-reply thread? That is, in case the main site isn't up for another fortnight or so, which would mean two roundtables close upon each other.
This has now become the July edition, so those who submitted for May will have them go up now. Everyone else is still welcome to submit, as the article will go live on Friday, July 29.

did I already submit something for the 66th? I honestly can't remember, and I can't check since I usually send them via PM (and those went the way of the dodo)...

Melf, do you still have my RRT 66 entry from May?

So there's to be no make-up issue? Or is this like a gala, welcome-back issue of double/treble size?

Ah, coolness. I think I'll do one for this month.

The roundtable goes live Friday, July 29th.
Reader Roundtable is really easy to write for. Just pick a game you played this month and write a paragraph or more about your experiences with the game. You can talk about weird glitches you found, secrets previously unknown to you or even treat the entry like a review. Things like that are perfectly acceptable. Last I remember, Melf proofreads all entries for errors anyways, so just have fun. Everyone on Sega-16 is welcome to join the Roundtable. The more the merrier. :D

Just like I do. Use the roundtable to review games.
If you sent in your submission before the site went down and don't see your name in the initial post, please send it to me again, and I'll add you in.

... Damn it... I really don't think I still have my old Rocket Knight Adventures entry... I'll have a sniff around for it, but I feel it may be gone forever. :(
In the mean time, I'll do something for Aladdin, since I've been playing it a fair bit as of late.
Guntz, I have your RKA entry. I added you to the list, or did I confuse you with someone else (Aaron Wilcott)?

No, that's me. I noticed my RKA entry is still in my sent box, so all wasn't lost after all. Many thanks Melf. This Roundtable is already looking to be awesome this month. :D

What? Did you do RKA?? Oh my... I had done the entry of that game since April, but due to the many problems of the site it was canned. Melf, is there any problem if I send my entry. Even if itīs about the same game?

This is why I rather do overlooked unknown games. I was kind of thinking about doing RKA too until I changed my mind because that gem is very known game here on sega-16 and there's very good chances someone will choose it for Reader Roundtable otherwise there will be three entry on RKA which it's kind of silly. Everybody knows that game very well, it needs no intro.
Multiple entries on the same game are accepted for Reader Roundtables, so all RKAs are welcome!

Considering Melf was A-OK with multitudes of Pier Solar entries all in the same months, I don't think he'd complain if three people write about the same game just one time. Feel free to submit a Rocket Knight Adventures entry, I'd very much love to read it! I'd want to see how it compares to my perspective of RKA. :)

I dunno, mine is like a review. But it also has some history of how my prespective about RKA changed throughout the years. Since 1997 to 2011.

Right now I'm much more interested in a different game this time. It's a FMV sega cd game called Fahrenheit.

I don't think these should be reviews though. If you want to do that, leave a comment on the RKA review on the main site. Reader Roundtable is mainly about experiences, first and foremost.
@Sly_Wolf:
You're free to talk about any game you want. It doesn't have to be RKA (though it would have been nice). Whatever's easiest for you to write about. I happen to like Fahrenheit, very fun FMV game. I'd enjoy reading your thoughts on it. :)
