Action Replay help

I tried the search option but no luck.

I bought a dead mint Pro Action Replay, it has all inserts etc. But the inserts are in German. So I haven't figured out yet how it works. Can someone give me a quick guide?

Actually I am dutch and live in the Netherlands.

Back on topic:

I am pretty sure it works, I have the code input screen before me, but I don't know what to do when I have alll codes filled in.

Do I need to activate the codes, because when I flip the switch the game starts without the extra lives and stuff.
