Is the noise coming from the machine itself, or is it affecting the sound coming from the game? If it's coming from the machine, it could be some problem with the disc motor mechanism, or simply that the CD isn't sitting correctly in the tray. If it's coming from the game, give the CD a good clean, and the contacts between the Genesis and Sega CD.

it's the machine itself,think it's a motor prob,anyone have a home remedy for this?

I have this problem... its the disc that isn't placed correctly so its hurting the plastic on each rotation (four "loud clicking noises" per second approximatively)...
If it's the same problem, just open the tray and put the disc again and push it a bit down (instead of simply put it without any strenght).

tried your method Fonzie and it didn't work all too well,it a rapid whirring noise then it'll stop, load the game and freeze once you start playing
I wanna get this fixed cause I'm gonna be getting rid of it on ebay soon(that and the other like 9 million sega products I have, geneses decks, nomad, game gear w/ master system converter and like 15 games, too much to list)
really dont wanna sell it but I need a car and that's more important than games right now

Try pressing down on the disc tray lid gently - my model 2 likes to complain about the door being open when it isn't.
