The game is like a pot of gold, those of you lucky enough to have it, are lucky, I have Bare Knuckle 3 but not Streets Of Rage 3, before you say it eBay sucks for trying to buy the game, it is far too costly, anybody know of any European websites at all that are selling it in PAL format for Genesis for a good price?

Note: I mean Streets Of Rage 3, I have the others, sorry for the mistake in the title.

SOR 3 is NOT rare in any region, but it attracts high prices so that is why it is a costly title. Sorry. :(

To begin with, this should be in Sonic's Bazaar, not the Tech Aid forum.

Second, don't get the PAL version! It has a lock out chip that forces you to play in 50 Hz, which sucks brutally. Or you can play in 60 Hz, but that will probably make the game too fast, including the music. This also goes for PAL Alien Soldier, really irritating when you want full screen. But not for Shining Force II, that game remains in tact while switching to 60 Hz somehow. Anyway, try to get the American SoR3. Yes, the box art makes Osama look pretty, but it is probably not more expensive than the PAL version.

I am a fellow member of the UK , do you know of anywhere where I could pick this classic game up from? Honestly, though, if you have the game and do not want it, then ask me for a game and I'll see whether I have it or not for ya. (On any system, I have tons). PM me about it though.
Yeah I realised that when it awas already too late, I should have put the topic in the Sonic Bazaar forum, sorry for being such a noob. Hope I didn't annoy you too much. It's just I saw the word "help" and immediately jumped right in here. I am soooo very desperate for this damn game.

I only have Bare Knuckle 3 and I'm satisfied with that. You shouldn't have too high hopes of getting this game cheap. Just look around eBay or the shops advertising in Sonic's Bazaar and you will hopefully find a copy not too expensive soon. Sometimes it's just takes time to find a good deal.

I have waited and waited and waited, nothing after a year actually! eBay sucks, everyone is charging well over 30 quid for it now and the bidding never stops. I have no chance of getting it any other way apart from asking people on here about the game.

Alright, then www.tradera.com is also an alternative, but I doubt the prices will be cheaper there. Payment and shipping may be a hassle. Some games just won't be sold for cheap prices, no matter how much you wait on auction sites or game shops. So why don't you save some money and buy the game at eBay then?

The price is rediculous! Would you pay that for one game, mostly without a case or a booklet?

Oh yeah, can anyone inform me as to whether I am able to play Streets Of Rage 3 (NTSC version) on my PAL Mega Drive 1 system?

I only buy complete games. I pay the price they games are worth. Most games cost 10-30% of the release price today, but they are still as great. SoR3 may still be expensive, but it is at least cheaper than when it was released. Did you buy any games at all when the Mega Drive games were released? I really wonder when you say the price of SoR3 is ridiculous.

Edit: SoR3 doesn't have region protection. Only Bare Knuckle III.

I was a kid when they were released, since the game is really old and costs more than current gen games, yes it is rediculous, it is NOT rare, no game on Earth is worth £50, I would rather save up for something more important!

The value is all based on the market and how much the customers are willing to pay for it. It is the last game in a legendary Sega franchise, with a legendary composer behind (some of) the music. The game has never lost it's popularity, therefor the price is still high after all these years, even though it is not rare.

Sometimes you just have to buy the farm and pay out of the butt and into the fuck for that game you want. Or you can keep waiting, and waiting and waiting.

I might have to do the above when it comes to MUSHA and a few other games. Some games I own that are in awful condition need to be repurchased may be expensive...

I've got a deal finally off a French Ebay seller, he is willing to let go his copy for 40 Euro's, which translates to £26. Bargain if you ask me in comparison of £50 at a shop near my house!

SoR is good but you have to be stupid to buy it at that price.

For which price? You mean £50 ($95)? Or for the price I paid which is £30 ($57)?
