I have a segacd v2 on my genesis v2 w/ 32x

Since i've installed it, it causes certain games to flicker and freeze, even though there weren't any problems before. WHen I remove or unplug the segacd the problems cease.

The segacd 2 also came with a bunch of metal parts, one of which is the plate that goes under, the other two however, I can't identify. Maybe this is the problem?

please help me.

Well the plate is for shielding. It helps to keep the Genny processors interfering with the Sega CD processors. Same thing with the shielding plates for the 32X. It is best to use these. I never played with a model 2 sega CD much, but I know that with the model 1 it kinda makes a difference and as the model 2 puts everything closer together then the model 1 does it probably is more important.

The big plate is mainly for holding the two together but the small tin plate is the shield. Not having the big plate can cause problems to because it puts stress on the connector slot between the two and if it moves it will freeze up the system.

So if you didn't put either of the plates on I'd go and do that immediately.

Now you say you have 3 metal plates... there should be a big metal one and a small metal one that is tin. What does the third one look like?

Where does the tin one go?

I fixed the problem by switching to different genny system. Realized the connectors were oh so nasty on both the segacd side and the part where you put in the game, I cleaned it out and it seems to work.

But now im concered with the interference. hmm.

there is grate on the underside of your genny... count I think it is three slots in on the grate and place the tin there.

Oh and take some rubbing alcohol, rub it on the genny connector part then slide it into the sega cd, jiggle a little and take it back out. wipe of the genny connector and let the sega cd dry (only takes a short time it is alcohol and all). Then put it back together again.
