just got my hands on two arcade power sticks (3 button-1md, the other genny) both are in decnt condition but could do with a clean.

the megadrive stamped stick is a bit noisy though, a nasty squeek can be heard when the skick it pushed to the outer reaches of it's reach. it also sticks a little when moving down.

anyone know how to remedy this-i was thinking of taking them apart for a good clean but don't really know the intricacies of joystick hardware- i don't want pretty sticks that don't work see......

Take the stick apart and remove all of the circut boards, put them aside, and give the controller a bath. No really. I took a plastic box, put soap and water in it, scrubbed the pad, dried it off and looks great.

cleaned the stick up by taking it apart and washing the casing, buttons and stick in soapy water. i also used a cocktail stick on all the indentations and nooks on the casing and buttons. found it a bit tricky to realign the circuit board at first. also i was a little overzealous when screwing the base plate back on though and tightened the far left screw too much and created a 'bubble' in the handrest plastic~so be careful! it doesn't look too bad though and i have nice clean, quiet stick! ahem.....
