View Full Version : Introduce Yourself!
I'm Melf, the guy who runs Sega-16. I also post a lot on the Digital Press, Got-Next, and TNL boards. Nice to see everyone and I hope you stick around!
Also, please take the time to read the board FAQ, so that you know what is acceptable and what isn't. Thanks!
I am bahn...I manage GotNext and serve as Melf's wonderful assistant in making Sega-16 an even more kickass place than it already is. All donations welcome and encouraged! :)

Hola! Yo soy LiquidSnake :) I post regularly on the Retrogaming Roundtable, ASSEMbler Forums (as LiquidPolicenaut) and on TNL. I run the Policenauts Paradise and Snatcher Shrine website and started a small MSN group devoted to the Sega CD....all from my my place in glorious NYC! (ok, not SO glorious, but still nice lol). Yup....that's all for now!
Names JFLY and I like anything Sega (which is why I signed up, btw) -- Sega arcade, consoles, portables and what not. I play every type of game except for sports games -- I can't stand them (but I do enjoy a good golf game)! These days I play mostly of 2D fighters, h & v shmups, and platformers.
Thanks for creating a great site Melf and bahn!

Hey, Sega Uranus is in da house  (real name is Cory Adcock)
Anyways, I am named after my project of mixing
-a Genesis
-a S CD
-a 32X
-a Saturn
-a MasterSystem
-a GameGear (which is pretty much a MS)
-and a Dreamcast
Into one unit, all while using limited space, and 1 power supply!
I also post on cd-helper.com as Sega_Uranus
I also will review more!

Hi, I'm Elusive. I'm a lurker on the DigitPress forums, but I'm a fairly active member of the Sonic the Hedgehog research community - you can often find me at Simon Wai's Sonic 2 Beta (http://www.sws2b.com/) or Sonic CulT (http://www.sonic-cult.net/). I'm fond of ancient and more recent classic gaming - think mid-eighties to early nineties - buuut, I'd rather be known as a Sega loyalist, as opposed to fanboy. :) I love the Sparkster and OutRun series of games, and I'll try to chip into a conversation wherever possible.
Oh, and I'm English, in case you haven't noticed by now. =P

07-04-2005, 08:33 PM
I'm the resident know-it-all j_factor. I post on a few other forums, and have written a whopping one review here, despite always saying I'll write hella more. I'm an opinionated bastard, but I'm full of love. No really.
I guess I'm here simply because Genesis is my favorite system, full stop. Not for anything specific, I just think it has more worthwhile games than any other system. And while SNES is a good system, I think most people who prefer it just haven't explored the Genny library enough -- the Genny's classics tend to be more "hidden". I get that feeling because whenever I get into one of those lame internet "listing match" style arguments with an SNES devotee, the response is always "I haven't heard of half those games".
Uhm. Woo, tangent.
Aaaaaaanyway, I've been here a few months now, and I like y'guys, so I'll be hangin around. And I'm from California, which I occasionally make glaringly apparent, like when I say "hella".

I'm Dyldo, I hang out over at SegaXtreme. I ran into melf over there posting about his new website awhile back. I checked it out, liked it, joined the forum, wrote a review of EWJ SE.
Next thing I know the forum changes and now I had to make a new account. So here I am introducing myself once again. You all probably don't know me though. Soon you will!
MuWAhahahahahaha ::achoo:: heh, heh, uhhh. Damn that dust in the air.
Electroman

Better late than never. Born in 1973. Currently an Electronics Design Engineer. Electronics has been my labor of love since... well when I was a kid. Too bad videogames had to come about and stray my discipline away, eh. I hate the Game Gear. Worst screen ever. Sorry.
My attraction to Sega I'm sure isn't unlike others. I favor pick up n play arcade games (hence why my NEO GEO is my #1 platform ever) but I really felt that the Genesis platform was > TG16 and even the SNES. Its raw Mustang-like power had so many of the games I appreciated most. On the Genesis, I favor schmups mostly followed by brawlers and RPG's.
First got a Gen 1 Genesis in Dec 1989, Gen 1 Sega CD in 1992, and Gen 1 32X in 1994. I plan on expanding my Genny collection in the coming year but for now, I own:
52 Genesis Cart games, with only a few that are loose.
15 Sega CD games
5 32X games
Sega Nomad
The Sega Genesis platform is my 2nd most favorite platform ever, but certainly the most played. The NES is my 3rd favorite platform. What is my 1st fav platform? NEO GEO definately.
I post as Electroman on the www.neo-geo.com forums.
I am very interested in contributing what I can to this fine website that Melf made, and feel fortunate to have found it so early in its life. Look forward to submitting reviews and discussion alike.

My user & real name is Vicman,
I post here because it's a site dedicated to a system I loved and played to death during my teenaged years, and the fact that the people seem easygoing enough for my tastes (let alone the frontpage content). You see I don't post anywhere else for the mere fact that most gaming and nongaming forums are full of too much BS. I find pointless bickering and infighting to be mindnumbingly tiring and am too old for it anymore. I sure do lurk alot at gaming-age, warchant.com, and buccaneers.com however as I find it easier/healthier to just read and not get myself personally involved. Also a long time ago, more like 3 years, I used to be a supermod at TXB, and then I was a supermod/news editor at a small, but now dead, site called NGG. I wasted a ton of time, good and bad, at those places and am glad to have moved on.
My favorite types of games are sports and action games but I enjoy all genres and don't limit myself in my gaming experiences. My two biggest loves are video games and sports, combining the two has always been my favorite pasttime, with G.I. Joe 3&3/4th collecting a distant 3rd. I have a thing for beautiful hand drawn 2-D graphics as well as ultra realistic 3-D gaming, as I believe in fully enjoying gaming's past, present, and future.

08-09-2005, 10:07 PM
Hey, I'm IronKnux. I love Sega as a whole... but classic Sega is definitely the greatest. As you can probably tell by my name, I love Knuckles. One time I even grew dreads and died them red and was Knuckles for halloween. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures...
I love to write. I've won awards in my school and in community use programs for my short stories and poetry. I also have a passion for piano and soprano saxophone.
Back to Sega. I own a Genesis, and Game Gear, and a Dreamcast. I have 26 games for Genesis, 6 for Game Gear, and 35 for Dreamcast. I'm not much of a collector, but I really love reading about Sega and I believe their games are fun as anything and chock full of quality and creativity.

The best way to get your foot in the door for those kinds of jobs is to play a lot of games both good and bad to figure out how they work...figuring out what is bad, what is good, or how they can be improved.
After that, you take a job as a tester.
Most of the technecal jobs go to the good testers.
If you want to design characters as well, I'd reccomend taking a drawing class

Hi, I used to post on the old forums but I was left without intenet for a few months. Well, now I'm back!
I used to have a Genesis but got rid of it around the time the Saturn and Playstation came out in the mid 90's. I've always missed my Genensis and out of pure nostalgia, I picked one up last year. Right away, all of these memories came back to me of how fun and simple games used to be. I've been trying to rebuild my old game collection from when I was a kid and have been having fun ever since. I'm glad there is a web site like this!

You can just shut your lying, cheating, filthy mouth. :p
Hello all. I just registered today but I've been lurking the various forums for a number of years now. I got my Master System in 1987, followed it up with the Genesis in '89, Sega CD in '92 before selling my soul to buy a PSX in '95. Around '98 I re-puchased my Genny and bought a 32X for $20. I had always been fascinated with Sega's technology and style, and the Genesis probably had some of the best soundtracks out there.
My complete game list is at http://www.nepereny.org/misc2/games.html . The list is in order of system release date so the Sega stuff is more toward the bottom.

Around Vancouver, I am the local sonic/sega freak... though I may have compition thanks to a few of you. Right now I am in school learning programming. In my free time when I am not gaming I am fiddling around with SaturnOrbit programming for the Saturn. So far... no luck. I am also an artist, my avitar is a drawing of mine. The hair and facial expression really do it for me lord.
I'm Rob. I am a college student at Purdue University, and am studying Electrical and Computer Engineering.
My obcession with the Sega is more of a recent projection of the obcession I had on it when I first got it. Sega Genesis was the first 16 bit system I got (I got to choose between Sega and Super Nintendo... sooner or later I got both). When I went into high school, my mom sold my Genesis at a garage sale. Recently, I saw a sweet Genesis package for sale, and went ahead and bought it. Since then I have been looking for rare and excellent video games. I think I have done a pretty good job of getting them too.

Hello! I just joined here... name's Lucky, as you can see! Been a big SEGA fan ever since I was a little kid, I mostly became interested because of Sonic (although I had a Master System for a while before that). I'm coming up for 17 years old, and I'm Scottish. I collect anything Sonic related, and SEGA stuff too, when I can afford it.
Err... I'm not the best at introducing myself really, but I just thought I should say hi to everyone.

My name is Joe, this is my 3rd post EVER and I am the biggest Sega fan in the entire world with the exception of those who are bigger Sega fans than me. My plan is to one day be a mod of this forum so that I may BAN each and every one of you for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than because I am a complete prick.
Other than that I love collecting 16-bit games. I try to stick with only games I enjoy, though (no "Vay" for me). Right now I think I have about 96 games that will run on my Genesis, if you count the 32X and Sega CD games. I am still looking for an original Revenge of Shinobi (with Godzilla) as I foolishly sold my copy when I got a Sega CD and it came with the game on the 4-pack disc. Did they ever take Godzilla out of the Japanese Super Shinobi? Also I need a bunch of EA sports games (serious) with boxes that are in good condition. Don't care what the games are. But preferably I'd rather have a bunch of Acclaim 32X boxes. Maybe I will post in that FOR SALE or WANTED forum that's around here. :)

Well, introductions. My name is Damien. Yes, I know there are bigger Sega fans out there then me, but I've always liked the Megadrive and now I am finally looking to buy one of my own.
Currently, it's hard searching for one. I hope I do find one... or one that'll work -_-
EDIT: Scrap the 'currently searching for one'. Just won one on an eBay bid. Hopefully, when that all clears up I'll have my beloved Megadrive. :)

Greetings! Extrarice here, from California. I first cut my teeth on an NES (which I stupidly sold when I was a kid, but luckily my wife kept hers), migrated to SNES, then to Playstation and so on. I'm now in the process of exploring the consoles from my childhood I ignored while playing my NES, and other "dead"/classic consoles, the latest aquisition being a Sega Genesis. I'm always on the lookout to expand my empire. The line-up so far (only end-of-life'd consoles listed):
NES, SNES, N64, PS1, Sega Master System, Genesis, Dreamcast, Game Gear, TG-16.
Next step, world domination!

Welcome, one and all, to Sega-16, the ONLY place where we won't pan such amazing classics as Dark Castle, Awesome Possum and...
...Can't... continue... sarcasm... overpowering....
Anyway, welcome to you. I am sure you find your stay here both enjoyable and memorable, hopefully both at once. Please, don't hesitate to mingle with us and share your thoughts about the many games that the megadrive has to offer. :)
Welcome Jubal!
We hope you enjoy your stay and decide to post regularly, because there's nothing better than regularity! :p
Seriously, welcome to the boards man.

I haven't bothered to do this until now. I am obviously Chris Marsh. I am a high school student (BOOO!!). My dream is to make something out of life. I like to play Sega Genesis and all of the add-ons to the Genesis and have been playing it since 1996. If you are wondering why there is the VHS shot of Ghoulies is because I like to make fun of things that are idiotic like Ghoulies.

As of the date of this post, I own 79 Genesis games. There's a link to a list of what I own in my sig if you want to check it out.
My favorite Genesis games are Sonic 2, Fire Shark, Gunstar Heroes, Virtua Racing, Outrun, Championship Pro-Am, Alisia Dragoon, Virtual Pinball, Truxton, Rocket Knight Adventures, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Steel Empire.
Sega-16 is the best Genesis site I've anywhere on the net, and I hope to supply some contributions whenever I have the time!

04-01-2006, 09:24 PM
I actually never propely introduced myself I believe. I'm Megadrive20XX from Waco, Texas USA. (No I havent lived here all my life, so I don't have a crazy redneck point of view, because I just moved here in 2004 to find a better job lol) I'm originally from Massachusetts.
I had a Ghouls N Ghosts theme and how I decided to change my name to Megadrive20XX is quite an old story from one person who was a great inspiration for me to take the initiative to venture into the Japanese Megadrive side of gaming. Since it was a total mystery to me until 2003 when I recieved my very first JPN MD system.
Yet pre-dating that memory, simply by one humble game. Castlevania Bloodlines. During my Junior year in High School in 1998, I just moved to Texas and befriended a guy who was really a die-hard 2D fighter fan and was crazy about Wrestling games. Yet loved CastleVania games to death.
So one day, after playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 on PSX. I looked over and saw "CastleVania" and had no clue that a CastleVania game existed on the system. Except for the ads in "SEGA VISION" magazine I used to get in the mail back in 1992 to 1994. (lord i still wish I had those mags). Well after playing this game, I went nuts. I was shocked that Genesis was able to do such a thing. So I spent 1999 and 2000 hunting down every single thing I could learn about Sega. I went out and bought a Sega CD 2, a 32X, and any Genny game I could find. By 2002 I pretty much had a good understanding of the benefits each part offered.
To only learn, it's one finest damn systems in history, that comes true to why they called it "Leader of the 16-bit Revolution"
In winter of 2004, I wanted to pay tribute to the company that formed and shaped my views of how I see gaming as a whole when i comes to contrasting and comparing all the various consoles in the world.
So I created and Admin the forums of SEGA-SPETSNAZ.COM Which, with nearly 8 people has been a blessing.
I admire all shapes, forms, and types of Sega related websites. As Melf once told me, "We're all here to send the same message" and it's so true.
The world needs to be educated on Sega just like every other game company in existance.

Hi there, I'm a student in college right now and I'm trying to get enough credits to graduate high school and move on to a college in the east (I live in Western United States). Basically, I'm lazy, watch sports, masturbate frequently, and have a very small and insignificant Genesis collection that I would like to improve.
I'm not interested in collecting Genesis games for collection, I'm interested in playing them and experiencing them. The Genesis has the best library in my mind, and it's one I would like to explore. Unfortunately, I can't use ebay because I don't have a checking account which is something I'm working on currently. I would get an emulator, but alas, it's too complicated for my (generally) feeble mind.
Well, I'm glad I could join and I look forward to playing Genesis games and discussing them here.

Hi people,
I'm Phil, a Canadian Metalhead who works in a restaurant and desperately wants to record something with his Death/Thrash metal band and start touring. Long before my mind got corrupted by drugs, alcohol and the devil's music, a Sega Genesis was sitting on it's throne besides the basement's TV and was my only reason to get up in the mourning.

Hello, forumers, I'm Heath.
Ran across the site in relation to all the cool Beggar Prince coverage, then liked it so much I signed up for the forums. Kalinske interview went up right after that, and I knew I'd found a really great site.
I'm waiting for a friend of mine who writes for Joystiq to give me some feedback on a review of Dangerous Seed I wrote, which I'll then submit to Melf, and we'll see if it makes the cut.
Love the site and the forums--glad to have found it. Genesis and Sega CD were always my favorite consoles--I felt like they were uniquely mine, since nobody I went to school with had them. :-)

Hello, peoples. I am glad to have finally found a place that may understand my Genesis obsession, and my Sega obsession in general. A place that may agree with me when I say, "Long live the Dreamcast!" A place where people appreciate a good non-Final Fantasy RPG instead of just saying "lol thats n0t ff so urr dum." (Not that there's anything wrong with FF games, mind you. They just have a knack for making people forget there are other RPGs out there.)
Glad to have found this place, and I intend to stick around and enjoy my time here.
Welcome both of you! I hope you decide to stick around and make Sega-16 your home online. :)

Well, I lost my job and accepted a redundancy package, so I'm wandering around the net, and trying to apply for jobs. So mindboggling as I may have stayed and had a job for life, I didn't like the work..but the people were great.
I had a Mark 1 Megadrive and Mega CD back in 95 I think and (first got a Megadrive in around 92) then consoles got swapped and I lost interest. I came back from the PC after Uni, and reacquired a Megadrive, and a MultiMega. Plenty of carts and an assortment of cd's, I'll try and get an up to date list for the collection thread in the Genesis forum. I've been expanding via Ebay over the last 3 years, and have started selling.
I like to make a distinction between rare good games and rare crappy games.
I've sold some of the latter not for great profits, but the games sucked basically.
I get by on a P750mhz with 256 RAM and a 6.5 GB harddrive, now that's hardcore!
I don't really play PC games if that's an explanation.
Someone came over the other day and laughed, but I have an internet of 2MB so I beat his dial up ass for a while.
Great site, just found it, love the features and the master game lists.

My names Dave, and i'm from Michigan.
I must admit that when the Genesis was first released i was not that fond of it.. but as i "Grew up" I became quite a fan of Sega and its systems and the crazy history that surrounds the company and its systems.
I would have to say that my Favorite Sega System EVER is the Dreamcast followed closely by the Saturn.
I enjoy Videogames, Music, movies and TV.
Hope i can contribute in some way.

I now have a Mega Drive 2 with Mega CD fitted both from Gamestations. I'm currently rebuilding my game collection while collecting Mega CD games. I am the proud owner of a copy of the infamous Night Trap.
I am currenty trying to hunt down a 32x so my system can be complete.

Hi everyone, I'm Rodger. Been a sega fan since I got my model one genesis packaged with sonic the hedgehog. I'm currently attending Western Michigan University and pursing a major in english, and minor in japanese. I work as a movie theater janitor to pay for my sega gaming. Pleasure to be on the boards.

I'm RedComet. I've been a Genesis fan since I got mine at when I was 7 years old. My Genesis is a freakin' tank too. I've been through 4 different Playstations and I'm still playing the same Genesis my parents bought 11 years ago! I'd have to say my favorite game is a toss up between Sonic 2 (or Sonic 1; I love the music on 1) and Streets of Rage 2.
Personally, I love the site. I stumbled on it a couple months back and I've spent quite a few nights reading the articles and interviews into the wee hours of the morning. :)
Keep up the good work, fellas. :D
streets of rage 2 eh yes i know i just pumped up the music of that game in our nearest gameshop they werent so happy????.

01-23-2007, 05:56 PM
I'm Stander and I'm here because I'm a Sega guy at heart. I grew up with the Master System and Genesis/CD/32x and still can't get enough of them. I'd let my collection mostly disappear in order to finance other things, but I'm back on track to regaining most of it. Re-buying the childhood, I suppose?
I'm an avid comic book collector (nerd alert!) and have been for quite a while. Yet another thing I figure you can never be too old for.
I'm currently a senior at the University of Alabama (graduating in May), majoring in Psychology and minoring in History. I work part-time as a radio dj and morning show producer for Clear Channel Worldwide in Tuscaloosa, AL.

01-31-2007, 12:54 AM
Necrocheese, I heard of this site from another members at Segafans, which I've gone to for atleast six years (and don't plan on stopping). I still own and play the first genesis I ever had, and am only just now finally beginning to expand my collection now that I have available funds. My interests in sega span from mostly genesis to dreamcast, and while they do have some cool games every once in a while now (gunvalkyrie, panzer dragoon orta, etc.) I unfortunately am rather disappointed with their products in general.
I'm in my second year of colledge majoring in fine arts, and plan to study to be a medical assistant and then an autopsy surgeon in order to ensure I can eat. My favorite topics to talk about aside from videogames are politics and religion. I enjoy logical debate.

01-31-2007, 03:33 AM
Hey everybody. I'm Aaron (Aaron D if we have anybody from the Neo-Geo.com circus here), or Pure Gamerbilly. The name has a decent history :p , if you're curious, ask and I'll tell you how it came about.
I'm not quite sure how I found this place. But, I just want to talk about Sega with other Sega fans. I got my first Genesis for xmas in 1992. Then, I got a Genesis 3 from KB Toys on clearance (For $20!) and really began getting into Sega when I was 16. Multiple Sega systems and games later, I'm still into it. So, here I am. I'm also a huge SNK and Nintendo fan. I've spent the last couple years building up a decent Neo Geo collection. MVS, for those of you in the know...
Outside of gaming, I'm a college student. I'm about to get my AS this year. I work two jobs, one at a screen print shop, one at an arcade. I listen to a lot of music. Psychobilly and punk rock, mostly (if you've heard it on MTV or the radio, I probably don't listen to it). I guess that's about it. Glad to be here.

Greetings! The name is Daniel, and I was pretty much raised on the Genesis/Mega Drive. While I have only discovered this site a few days ago, the content was site was so amazing and I spent so much time reading it (I must give kudos on those interviews!) that I was simply compelled to join the forums as a result. This looks like a great place to be and whatnot.
Ah, those were the days. Sonic, Streets of Rage, Street Fighter II... hmm. I should break out my old games again to play.

06-05-2007, 11:22 AM
Hi. I'm Jordan, or as I'm known in other places, "hxc".
Over the past couple of years I have contacted and talked to various people who worked at Sega Technical Institute, including some of those featured on the Sega 16 website. (examples of people: Chris Coffin, Mike Wallis, Peter M, Roger Hector, etc). I mainly contacted them in relation to Sonic X-treme, and that is indeed my main focus, hehe.
I'm 15 and I live in Norwich, in the UK.
Hii.

Hi everyone.
Name's Rob. You're probably familiar with the reviews of mine that are on the site (or not). Maybe you're familiar with some of my websites (OPCFG, West Mansion, The Ghoul Realm). You may even know me from places like Hardcore Gaming 101 and the Retrogaming Roundtable. Or you may not know, or care, who I am at all. *shrug*
I've been a Sega fan since my first exposure to the SMS in 1987, and I've been on board the Genesis bandwagon almost from day 1. I still remember quite vividly playing Altered Beast, Space Harrier II and Last Battle for the first time in the fall of '89. To this day the Genesis remains one of my favorite consoles, and is currently the console I own the most games for (currently at 44, including Mega Drive games). It's not a lot, I know, but I'm happy with what I have. And that's what's really important, right?
steve
06-13-2007, 02:35 AM
^ Yo Rob! Good to see you (again).
Well, I'm Steve (no, really?) and I've been posting on various gaming boards since early 2001 (looong time ago, the Twin Towers were still standing). You might have seen me on boards like DigitPress, Neo Geo and HG101. I was a huge Saturn nut from 01-05. In '06 I came back to the SNES and to this day still love it dearly. Earlier this year I finally started my own website where I can share my thoughts on games in a more proper format than the message board medium.
My site is aimed toward Saturn/SNES gaming, but also has plenty of misc. stuff you wouldn't find on many other gaming sites. For example, my guide on how to snipe properly on eBay, various life story memories, etc. This, I've been told, has given my site a unique touch and helps to distinguish it from many of the other new "me-too" gaming websites that crop up every year
The URL is:
http://www.rvgfanatic.com
I was inspired by Dave Z's now defunct Saturn site... I want to recreate that "review magic" Dave's site had, and which Sega-16 has ... but for the Super Nintendo
Hey my name is actually eddie. Im more of an old NES fan then anything, been posting on old nes scene boards since 2000 watching them come and go. I have a genny with probably about 20 good games. Im not really a collector just like playing some of the old games that I played as a kid.

Sup guys,
Back in the day, I started out playing Nintendo games. When the 32-bit era came out , I ask my dad to send me a Saturn from the US. Man, I always wanted that system. He got me a PlayStation instead because it was cheaper. I've been a loyal PS fan since then.
I just got back into old school gaming to play all the game I used to play as a kid. Got a Genesis to play everything else that I missed.
Right now, I would take my Gen over my X360 anyday. :)

Hey y'all, my name is Ben been a gamer since I was about 6 years old, but until the PS2 generation I was pretty much a PC not console gamer. The only memories I have of the Genesis in its era is playing Sonic 2 at my friends house and seeing the "SEGA scream" commercials on tv.
However, I got a Wii recently and after reading some stuff on this site I downloaded Gunstar Heroes. Its such a kickass game I figured I'd pick up a real Genesis, which I'm planning on doing next week!:D So for me, the 16-bit generation starts in 2007.
Hope to have fun on this forum and with my "new" old system!

Hi guys! I'm back after a little absence.
I'm Glenn, I'm 22, and a student at Kean University in Elizabeth NJ. I've been a huge sega fan for my entire life, the first game I played was Sonic The Hedgehog. I remember playing Mario and just not understanding what the big deal was lol
I have a CDX, and am getting back into collecting games. I like shooters, some fighters, a little racing, and the casual RPG (I'm a sucker for Pirates! Gold).
I've owned Genesis model 1, 2, 3, CDX, Game Gear (still own), and Saturn.
Genesis is and will always be my favorite system.

Yello guys, im old school hehe since the time from atari but genesis was my favorite, i remember when i was saving my lunch money from school and ive been hungry as hell just so i could buy "sonic & knuckles"game, one of my favorites omfg, i just absolutley love sonic, and many other games one genesis- me personaly i would knock myself out cause i sold genesis many years ago incl all games, i was stupid what can i say, but thank god for rom,s and emulators, now we have all what we want, original games! All tho to be honest, i would kill for a new genesis + all sonic games for it, but sadlly we know how is this hard too get these days , especialy if you want new ones (here goes again thanks too emulators and roms) hehe! Anyway, one of the games i played a lot was also mortal kombat wich im very good at it, im still playing it of course, this will last forever (if anyone is interested of playing mortal kombat online with me, let me know)......and dont get me started on sonic games heheh m anyway, right now i managed to get some sega CD games and stuff wich i didnt played back then so its time for me too get started on that as well! Otherwise im a producer of trance music, i already released some tracks and im working for some record labels on mastering tracks and construction (my artist name is Crawer) hehe!
Anyway i like this comunity a lot, the only thing im sorry is that i didnt find it before ehehe! SO Welcome me heheh - Cheers

I'm new to posting on here. Some of you may recognise me from other forums, the sms8bit one in particular. Although I usually post as Playgeneration, I signed up here before but didn't post anything so my account got closed, so I opened another one with a shortened version of my internet name.
Anyway I'm a big fan of sega's games, I love the fast paced colourful arcade style of them. My favorite console is Master System, but I also enjoy Megadrive too, not surprisingly really as its very much a progression of ths master system in many ways.
My favorite megadrive games would be Sonic 1 + 2, Rocket knight Adventures, Shinobi III and Sunset Riders.

Hello.
I'm around mostly with the Kollision nickname.
My love for Sega started with Master System, but soon evolved to Mega Drive, which caused me lots of discussions with my brother (because he preferred the SNES).
I've been going through a game revival lately, motivated mainly due to the fact I noticed that the side scrolling shooter genre is virtually dead nowadays. I cleaned my console and immediately got to work.
My other interests are Cinema and amateur webdesign.
I live in Brazil and I very much hope to develop a consistent game library very soon.

Hi RangerX! Before I start prattling on with my introductory story, I'll just comment that your name is one of my favourite games on any system...
Now, a short bio about me: I'm nigh on 31yo, I'm into all sorts of gaming and collect for any system - what a tart, eh? My tastes are not just limited to retro gaming, as I've usually got any new console that comes out. My collection is pretty large and has a few cool 'jewel in the crown' pieces in it. The biggest part of my collection, however, is the Megadrive portion (just got Panorama Cotton with the tea cup, too, which is thrilling). The Megadrive is definitely one of my fave gaming systems, along with C64 and X360.
I've worked as a graphic designer for 10 years now. I'm into music and I also do sound production. A lot of my audio stuff can be found in the videos at Qube Konstrukt (http://www.qubekonstrukt.com/).
I've been coming to Sega-16 for a fair while now, and thought it was about time I actually made my presence official! So... uh, hey everyone!

My name is Mick, I live in Staffordshire UK and I am (was) a computer games artist, designer and 3D modeller.
Having abandoned the games industry (not a pleasant industry to work in nowadays) I went into print design working in house for several companies and am currently freelancing as a Graphic Designer/3D Visualizer.
I used to have an obscenely large computer, console and games collection but in the past few years I've been selling allot of things off to free up room and concentrate on my main collections which are Sega Saturn and Atari Jaguar.
I still have a respectable Mega Drive/Mega CD collection and also collect NES and Dreamcast bits.
In my spare time I run and repair classic european cars as well as being an active member and helper to the Official Red Dwarf Fanclub.
I also run (and I use the word run lightly) SegaSaturn.co.uk (http://www.segasaturn.co.uk) an online community and information point for Sega Saturn owners, fans and collectors.

It's still pretty standard apart from that, it's on stiffened springs and is lowered a by a few inches.

2vcs are neat. I unfortunately never had the chance to be drive one but they look like alot of fun. People around here don't really understand but here they don't really drive ,the car does. I used to hang around the local British parts store though with college I cant really afford the hobby along with 3 others cars to keep running. My Buddy also has a 66 Sprite. We just rebuilt the transmission which was no fun. We actually had to machine parts they don't make anymore.
I got very very lucky with the Midget. It was my mothers car. She has had since she was 16. She wanted to get rid of it so I took it off her hands. unfortunately some Philistine (my dad) replaced the 1275 with a 1098 so one day I will have to track down a new motor for it and put back to how it should be.

Hey all.
Well I'm a lurker now forum member and sega fan. :)
I had a sega genesis way back and traded it in for a sega saturn (which I still have) and since then I've regretted selling the ol'16-bit goodness.
So on an impulse I repurchased a genesis on ebay for $40 (core 2, 2 controllers and Sonic 1-3) and a mess of old favorites I rented and never had enough money to own until now (most of them cartridge only and no manual :( ).
My all time favorite genesis games are:
Sonic & Knuckles
Earthworm Jim

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 26 and from England.
My main interest is the SMS, of which I am obsessed, but I have a small-ish MD collection (around 50 games). I didnt own a MD back in the day but a few freinds had them. My fave games from the time were Toe Jam and Earl and Sonic. I have joined here to try and build my knowledge of the Sega 16 bit area (which is currently almost nil) :)

Hi!
I'm 36 yo and are playing my consoles in Sweden. I have been playing since 1987 when I got my NES and later fell in love with SEGA when the Megadrive arrived and I knew that I got to have one. Then followed the Mega-CD and the 32X which I also bought, but I felt a little bit disappointed with them at that time and my gaming habit fell asleep for a while.
A couple of years later when I rediscovered my collection in the closet the interest came to life again and I totally fell in love with my Megadrive, Mega-CD and 32X.
I also got a Gamecube, GBA and a Saturn and I play on my old NES once in a while. I am looking forward to when I get my hands on the Dreamcast and Wii machines.
I am collecting in a modest way in which I sort out my absolute favourite games for each console and then try to find them in excellent condition. I am only targeting around 10-20 games for each console.

Welcome to Your Doom!
10-20 games are waaaaay too few for the Mega Drive.

Hey, newbie here. I'm 25 from Chicago IL. I grew up with a NES then a Genesis. I just found a SNES cheap at a thrift shop, I never had the SNES back during the console war days, the SNES has caused me to pull out all my old 8 and 16 bit games.

Another new guy here. I'm from outside Rochester, NY and I'm 19. I've been playing the Genesis for waaaaay too long as my Dad got it one Christmas (back when Altered Beast was packed in) and eventually I got old enough to where I could actually understand how to play video games so it became mine. I've been buying games off and on for a past couple years and about a month ago I found a used game store that sells boxed Genesis games for $1 and they're buy 2, get 1 free. I'm currently working on getting all the U.S. hockey releases (NHL 97, NHL 98, Tecmo Super Hockey, Brett Hull Hockey 95, Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars, and ESPN National Hockey Night still needed). I have a collection up past 60 now ranging from great games like Sonic 3 & Knuckles to the downright bad like and Shaq-Fu. My favorite Genesis games are NHL 94, Toejam & Earl, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star IV.
