View Full Version : Sega-16 Hands-On: Sega Mega Drive Super Medley
Though it only has a few choice cuts, the Sega Mega Drive Super Medley tries to make up in quality what it lacks in quantity. One of the many Genesis-era audio releases on CD, we've given it a complete run-through to see if it's worth your cash! After hearing the songs, I had mixed feelings about it. While the music played nicely and flow together, it didn't left me with a nice feeling in my mouth. I think that's just me.

This seems pretty retarded. It's just the same music with a drumbeat over the top and sometimes played at a higher tempo lasting for about 5 seconds each. I'd rather listen to my own farts.
And I don't think Crying is an import-only title. I believe it was released here as Bio Hazard Battle.

I actually enjoy listening to this CD (bought it months ago), but then I like game music soundtracks to begin with, so I am a bit biased.

The great thing about the song that is downloadable, is that it brings back so many memories is a very short time!

The version with the originals is dowbloadable, the main medley has each song fully recreated. Still overall pretty uninspired though.
Did they use faulty .gym dumps to rip the originals? You can hear the timing problems from miles away.

I think I may be the only remixer out there (or former remixer, rather) who actually plays the original games in a non-emulated state. So of course they are GYM dumps!

I hate 5-sec medleys and I hate jungle beats, so 2 thumbs down from me.

GYM dumps? From the Mega Drive era? Come on, Genecyst wasn't even around until the late nineten-nineties.
As for remixed music, there's a synthed-up version of the Green Hill theme that plays in the Japanese Sonic 1 advertisements. I've never seen it anywhere else though :(
