OK, was gonna save these back for another time, but what the hell, here goes.

First up, Beyond Zero Tolerance. If you hold A+B+C and press START during gameplay, a stat screen will pop up, giving you a rundown of your current play (shot accuracy, how many enemies left, health, etc).

This is what the screen looks like when activated straight away.

After playing for a couple of seconds play and you can see for yourself the difference.

More to come: more stuff and pics.

Now some Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Blue Knuckles, everyone's heard of him, right? Well, here's a method of playing as him without using Game Genie codes or savestates (I posted this back in 2005 on SCARZ, but got ignored):

OK, this was discovered by me years ago. To do this, go in to S3&K, and then do the following...

1. Select Knuckles and start a new game on Angel Island Act One.
2. Grab a vine and press Left three times, right three times and up three times - this will enable the level select code.
3. Return to the title screen, and select "Sound Test". Then select "Mushroom Hill Zone 1" making sure the character digit is always on 03.
4. Grab onto the handle of one of those drilling machines and repeat the level select code. This will enable the debug mode code.
5. Return to the Game Save Select Menu and select a file with Sonic having obtained all seven chaos (only chaos, not Super!) emeralds. Then immedialy exit out and return to the character select screen.
6. Highlight "Lava Reef Zone 4", hold the A button and press START to begin Hidden Palace Zone.
7. Press the B button to change to an object and hover straight down. Then, go right and pass the column and stop when you reach the messed up green emerald bush-thing.
8. Go straight up - this will start the "Knux Beam Elevator" sequence - press the B button twice to regain control, and, while avoiding the beam, go up.
9. You'll be in the emerald chamber room, hop on an emerald to start a secret special stage.
10. Clear the stage or fail it to strangly return to Angel Island Act 1 - but it's all messed-up. Immedialy after seeing the level logo, press the B button and go down. You'll freeze/ crash the game.
11. Return to the level select screen to notice the character digit has changed from 01 to 81. Select any stage to play as Blue Knux!

Blue Knuckles, use's Sonic's palettes and level routes, but Knuckles' model. Granted, the game will crash alot during your play as him.

If you smash an S monitor, you'll get a glitched Hyper form. To play as Super Blue Knuckles, go to the Game File screen after doing the above glitch, highlight the cleared game file of Sonic with all 7 Chaos Emeralds and press B to return to the title screen. Go to the Sound Test, select a level, collect 50 rings and glide to transform! (Pic coming).

Damn you're good at this stuff. I pretty much consider it a secret code when I can keep the power cord from slipping out the back of my Model 2.

For crying out loud, that's supposed to be a SECRET code...

Anyways, I can't believe you managed to do all that stuff and figure out what it was you did later on. I can't even figure out what the hell I just did in Mortal Kombat after doing some new move.

I can barely figure out what I did to power my Genesis on. Was it the blood sacrifice or the switch that I toggled?

Don't be an idiot, of course it was the sacrifice! The switch is there just to confuse people.

That's some really convoluted actions needed for Blue Knuckles... how does anyone manage to figure that out?? Oh, and this thread should be in Genesis Does, not Blast Processing.

That's some really convoluted actions needed for Blue Knuckles... how does anyone manage to figure that out??I used to be addicted to this game from around 95-98, played it near enough allday, everyday. Stumbled upon the glitch by chance after playing with the debug code and then spend hours (and I mean HOURS) back-tracking on what I did; finally, found it and wrote it down. BTW, got another 'discovery' that's Sonic-related; just getting the pics together.

Thanks guys :) This is for Sonic 3 alone (S3&K screws up). It all centers around using debug mode in the 2p mode.

First up, at the Level Select screen, hold A and pick the third 2p Vs 1 - Endless Mine will load and debug will be active.

Press B to and use A to cycle to the boulder, and place it. You'll find that you can't destroy it by jumping on it like the others in the level (in the tunnel, just after the hill), oh no, only a spin dash will work on it. Cycling through the placeable items confirms there are TWO boulders, yet only ONE type exists on the level. What does this mean? Either it's a leftover from Angel Island or this level at one point was gonna include them. The other boulders cannot be spindashed, only jumped on ; these ones work in the opposite (can be spindashed, can't be jumped on).

Sonic spindashing that boulder to rubble.

Repeating the procedure with Knuckles confirms something else; he can run into them and destroy them just like in the main game; 2P Knux is just Sonic with a different sprite set (same moves, no glide, same jump height), but as you may know, he did at one point have the same move set as his one player incarnation (you find the sprites of all this on Sonic Retro). Basically, they changed his moveset to Sonic's, but kept his ability to smash into rocks/boulders!

2P Knux ramming into the boulder.

As stated, debug mode isn't functional in S3&K; placing objects screws up the character stopping you from moving. I don't know if this has been documented before, but I've done a long search and found nothing on it.

Random Stuff:

Spikes are not in the 2p stages to my knowledge, except maybe Desert Hill. You can place them in any of the levels.

Nothing new here; just something that always amused me as a kid. :)

Ghouls'nGhosts genesis/md on the last level where the cloud eye balls first appear there is a ladder once at the top of it you can press the jump button then proceed of an invisible ladder to the top of the screen. Also in that same area there is a series of elevated walking plattforms. At the bottom of one of the first plattforms you can jump towards the end of it and it errors and you skip up a plattform going thru one. The last boss befor loki you can get to the far left of the battling area and if you time it right you can jump up and get hit by a cabbage knocking you into the area just befor the boss. From there you can easily throw your weapon over the plain and block a few cabbages here and there easily and defeat him from there. On the second to last level at the begining there is a little rock to jump over. If you get close to the left side of the rock and just keep jumping and throwing your weapon, killing enemies as they come eventually they will start moving really fast. On the second to last level before the water area you can get a skeleton reaper to follow you towards the water area and he will turn green. There is probably a couple more for this game. I'll try to play it some time soon so I can remember them.

New Discoveries...

Isn't that a new feminine hygiene spray?Sounds like an infomercial to me.

Today on New Discoveries, the combo juicer, blender, foodprocessor, mixer, and if you act now we'll throw in the attachment that plays Genesis games! Not available in stores! Well, unless you count that "As Seen On TV" store at your local mall, but call us anyway!
