hey everyone.. im new here.
i decided to resurrect my Genesis 2 just over a fortnight ago, managed to track down it, and its games.
however, it has a few minor issues.. first of all, the buttons on the controller dont seem to function at all, im assuming this is a controller issue, havent opened up anything to check yet.
and, the other issue, is that the power jack in the back of the console is "faulty" if i connect the power upto it, i have to hold the plug with a slight bit of pressure to the back right of the console to get it to power on, for fear of damaging the console, i only did this long enough to ensure that it still functions.. which it does.
so now i need a way to fix it.. i have a few friends who are "handy" with a soldering iron.. but im more interested in finding some nice detailed photos of whats inside, and close ups of the components.. before i let anyone open it up.
i was even considering taking the console to an electrical repair company.. would they do that kind of work?
ultimately, im after some repair and service guides with decent images, for fixing well known wear and tear issues with the systems.. do such things exist? or is anyone who has managed to do this kept the info to themselves, in the hope of charging others for the service?
