View Full Version : Honoo no Doukyuuji Dojji Danpei
Like dodgeball? The Mega Drive has a pretty sweet game beased on an animated series that of course, was never released in the States. Good thing for imports, eh? With excellent visuals and tight gameplay, Honoo no Doukyuuji Dojji Danpei is a game that you can just pick up and play, to great results. Interested? Why not read our full review (http://www.sega-16.com/2006/10/honoo-no-doukyuuji-doji-danpei/) for some more juicy details?

Good review. I had no idea this game even existed until right now, but it looks like a hoot.
Have there ever been any post-Super Dodgeball dodgeball games released in the US?
I put a bid on this game a while back on Ebay but got outbid. After reading this review on it I know now that I must have this game in my MD collection.

I've had this game for a few years now but have never really sat down and played it.
I believe this was the 2nd Japanese import i bought after "Cuty Suzuki's ringside Angel".

In the US? All-Star Slammin' D'Ball is the last I've played, a budget PSX game which looks okay but doesn't really play as well as the others mentioned in the review. Super Dodgeball Advance (GBA) and Jr. League Dodgeball (PSX) are the last US titles I recall seeing, and the import Simple 2000 The Dodgeball (PS2) is the latest one I know of not based on that dodgeball movie. No idea how any of these games are though unfortunately.

The supreme dodgeball game is SuperDodgeBall (NeoGeo). This one seems to be worth the effort tracking down too, though. Never heard of it either, but now it's definently on my have-to-get list.
Nice review!

Nice review! That Neo Geo dodgeball game (Technos right?) was awesome! Too bad it was only released on the MVS hardware, I would've definitely killed for an AES version.

Looks a lot like Super Dodgeball for the NES which is one of my favorite games ever. I really have to try this out.

While I like the simple goofy design of the Kunio guys better than the Danpei sprites, it's a far better game. The MVS Super Dodge Ball is just a graphic and audio update pretty much as I remember it and didn't really add anything new to the genre. The original arcade Super Dodge Ball is still my favorite version since it has better graphics than the NES port and I enjoy the sprite design better than the Neo Geo update.

Don't know much about the original arcade version but the NeoGeo version features alot of combos and super-moves, performed as in StreetFighterZero series etc.
