What method do you prefer to store your cd's? I bought a nice cd wallet/folder that I put all my Sega CD's in. I started to buy them off of E-Bay and sometimes you get a pretty good deal on the cd only auctions. I am sure the more serious collecters like the box and manuals though. But I buy the games to play :D

Allmediaoutlet.com has a deal I just bought where they're selling a reinforced 400 CD folder/wallet/case for $27 w/ free shipping. The thing looks quite sturdy and the price can't be beat by even walmart.

It's right on the right top in their CD wallet section: http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/allmedia/cd-dvd-wallets-subcat-125.htm

Here's a couple of pics from their page:

I have 4 CD 200 CD wallet cases like that just a little smaller (as their hold a lot)

I have 4 50 CD waller cases.
(The Cd wallets hold games for all my consoles... and about 30 VCDs)

And I have 2 book shelves to hold all my boxed games.

My music CDs are all backed up and stored in a box in my closet. I then burn what I want to hear onto mp3 CDs.

I keep them in their original cases, which I have lined up on a bookshelf.

original cases if possible
aside from that, I keep 'choice' disc only copiles in a Multi-Disc Clamshell, and a few in standard jewel cases (because they were sold to me like that.

Same here. Damn those big cases take up a lot of space!

What about those games you've either lost or broke the cases to over the years. I know a good deal of the Sega CD games I got back when I was 10 haven't survived the decade in the hands of a KID who moved once a year.

Since I have no legit games, I just put my burned games in slimline cases on my bookshelf.

The problem with slim cases is that they can get really bulky over time. You know what it is to have 100's of slim cases? You have to grab a bunch and flip through 'em just to find the game you want to play. Even when you color coordinate them it's still a pain. Having all your CD's in CD folders makes it easy to persue one's library and take your games where you want. Plus slim jewel cases aren't as cheap as they should be. Why pay $10-20 for a 100 slim jewel case pack when you can get a 400 CD folder for $27.00 with free shipping?

Heh, I only just started collecting sega cd games, so I don't have a specific method of storing them yet. Still I'd probably go for original cases as that's what I do for my other systems. Actually I need to buy a sega cd, can anybody tell me a price range for ones in relatively good condition?

I'd say you can get one for $20-30 with a Genesis on Ebay, or $20-30 alone at some webshops.

Hmm... okay. Nice to know the typical price range before you try to buy anything new.
