PAL mod an NTSC 32X

And all I get is a horrible black and white picture.. the PAL 32X carts do start now in my american 32X (when the Genesis is also on 50Hz), but the picture is awful...

Do you have a PAL TV? I thought that if you try to power up a PAL TV in America, it explodes and kills people.

my HDTV supports the following standard modes

NTSC 60
PAL 50
SECAM 50

see, here's what happens..

this is the normal NTSC Knuckles Chaotix, with the Genesis, and 32X in american mode..

but, here's the PAL Knuckles Chaotix, with the Genesis and 32X set to european mode (PAL)

notice it "wants" color in it (only blue and yellow though), but it just won't color it right..

(and it's not the TV, because I tested with a PAL-only DVD player, and it works fine via composite, and Svideo...)

Maybe the US Genesis can't output a proper PAL picture. It is a different scheme altogether. It's more than just a timing/Hz issue.

I have a PAL Mega Drive I and a Genesis 32X. When I start a PAL 32X game with my Mega Drive at 50 Hz through it, it doesn't work. At 60 Hz, a lock out message comes. With Mega Drive games, everything works fine. I'm gonna buy Genesis 32X games since PAL 50 Hz sucks and I only deserve the best!

Maybe the US Genesis can't output a proper PAL picture. It is a different scheme altogether. It's more than just a timing/Hz issue.
But the 32X is the one that's encoding the picture, not the Genesis.. The 32X only cares about the RGB signal, and that's neither NTSC nor PAL..

Is the 32X PAL or NTSC? Regardless, my point is the same if it is a US 32X.

the 32X is NTSC... but when those guys did it to a PAL 32X, it worked great in NTSC mode...

Well of course the PAL version will have NTSC built in since it is so awesome... better than real life in fact!
