So after what seems like years I finally dusted off my PSP and decided I wanted to play a game of Dracula X Chronicles,
however after inserting the (legit) UMD and starting the game it seems that my savegame has become corrupted.

Looking through google it seems that this happened because I upgraded my custom firmware to a new version,
and now the savegames are stored with another encryption or something.

So I'm searching and searching and I come across a tool that can apparantly fix corrupted (well not really corrupted, just not supported) savegames.

However this tool does not seem to run on my current CFW (I don't even remember what kind of CFW it is, like I said I hardly use this thing)

So my question is as follows, what is the best CFW these days? It seems the PSP scene is drawing to an end so much progress must
have been made since I last updated this thing, right?

So much work just because I wanted to use a savegame from gamefaqs that has Symphony of the Night already unlocked.
(and no I'm not gonna use a psx iso)

I took a break from the PSP a while back, so I'm behind as well. I'm still using 5.05 on my PSP! :D

I just bought a replacment PSP 3000 this week to replace my PSP 1000 that I literally played to death. When I turned it on it was set to OFW 6.60. So I downloaded and installed PROUPDATE, then ran Module Checker and found out it's a 9g module. My only option was to back up my NAND, run the PROUPDATER, then permanently patch it to 6.20, and spoof the module to mimic a 4g system. From there I haven't had to do much to get any homebrew to run - no GAME150 folder, or anything like that - just dropped them in the GAME folder and they seemed to run fine. Same with ISO files - just drop into the ISO folder and play. There are a couple of games that won't save to the memory stick, stating there isn't one, but that seems to be more on the ISO side than on the PSP side. Can't say one way or the other on saves, though - I had to format my memory stick prior to all of this and I haven't copied my saves over yet. But yeah, that's been my experience this week.

I haven't turned on mine for months, but I think I had 5.50, and originally I had 3.71. And when I did that upgrade the same thing as NeoVamp happened to me: many gamesaves got corrupted (there were a few that worked just fine, and the PS1 saves worked too)

Would upgrading to the latest legit PSP firmware fix it? or do you mean it happened to you with just using legit firmwares?

This is so annoying, I just wanted to use a savegame from gamefaqs, why would Sony create something like that?
what if i play a lot of games so i like to move my savegames from my PSP to my pc all the time, suddenly savegames that weren't on the PSP during an upgrade don't work anymore?

Sony got "infected" by the RIAA folks after buying BGM. Now they don't care about the customer - the customer is the enemy. So I can easily see Sony killing save games every time you update the firmware.

Does anyone know a super nintendo emulator that well work on the pspgo HBL program? all other emulators work fine but that's one of my main.

Except NeoVamp said the save file corrupted when he upgraded his CFW... I could see that sort of thing happening if you upgrade your OFW, but CFW?

Which SNES emulators have you tried? Snes9xTYL might have a signed version available.

CFW is just OFW with the certain patches made, like killing the encryption check for loading programs. Anything that happens with updates for OFW will usually also happen with CFW.
