ok, i just got back from the doctors, and after being on an ECG machine, it says i have a heart abnormality.. no family history like this, nor do i take medicine that should cause it.. i know the doctor says its most likely nothing, but it worries me..

i looked at the ECG printout, and it appears that my hearts timing is off (and in some ways, weak)...

im only 20, birthday was couple days ago, so im not old to have these kinda issues..

anyone else have something like this? i have to visit a cardiologist soon..

I myself have never run into it, but I'm still sorry to hear it happened. You're only a year older than me, too, so now I'm kinda worried myself...

i just hope it's nothing.. my doctor said it could just be how im wired, and how my body works, but i just worry allot..

hopefully it's nothing..

Do you feel that this is something recent or do you think it's been like that your whole life?

mitrovalve prolapse perhaps? Right around my 20th birthday I had a heart scare where it palpatated and felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. One of the valve's timing is off, so it dosen't open and close when its supposed to. As the doctor told me, it's not a big deal, even athletes have it and it dosent cause a problem. For me, stress and lots of caffene seem to set it off. I'm sure you'll be fine, did they send you off for an echocardiogram and determine which valve is being funky?

i feel it's recent to me.. it's like a stabbing pain i've been having on my chest.. i thought it was gas pains, but my doctor is worried, as that's where my heart is..

i've been stressful a lot lately, maybe that's why..

I think I know why you're stressed out... it's because my Genesis is better than yours. And my Sega CD is 10 times better than yours. And my 32X is the best 32X in the world. This upsets most people. It's OK. Your PC is probably much better than mine.

It's better that they've found it than it going undetected. Usually in these sorts of cases it's nothing serious, stress and anxiety can make you heart beat irregularly because of the adrenaline.

hey now, my CD and 32X can beat yours easily... ;) my CD2 works great supports every Genesis perfectly, my 32X is running on a switching power supply and takes less juice..

Maybe it's something related to your diet. I ate very much fat and sugar a few years ago. I felt some pain in my chest then sometimes. Then I cut down on fat and sugar and it disappeared.

I can imagine what your doctor has scribbled on your file.

"How is this guy still alive?"

LOL

well, he did recommend more salad, and less junk food..

it's like that seinfeld episode, where they try to read the file..

That cokeacola might be the culprit behind it. I myself generally avoid suspicious mainstream-sounding brands. :D

I have a mitral prolaps, but do live with it. My heart sometimes goes too fast, and sometimes it works not rythmic (1 beat out of normal rythmus, pause for a second, then works again normally). I am working as male nurse, so i was worried, cause heart issues were my daily work. The doc said its mostly caused by a nerve around my heart which gives wrong commandos to the heart, but its not dangerous

Do you mean CocaCola? I've never seen it spelled "Cokeacola". In fact it's been awhile since I've heard it called anything but just plain "Coke".

it's my own personal joke to call it Cokeacola, cause it used to really have Coke in it..

Yeah, that'd get your heart a-thumpin'. :)

When I was in the Domnican Republic, the Coke had real sugar... not some crappy corn sludge. Tasted really good, and was cheaper too! I've been eating more veggies lately, and am liking what I eat.

Now every so often, I get this funny feeling in my stomach. I always think it's my heart for some reason, OR I streched some muscle in my chest.

Stop eating vegetables and you're body will stop rebelling.

I myself recently found I had very bad blood pressure.

But really, just follow the doctor's advice and try not to worry so much. If he suspected it was anything serious, he'd hospitalize you. The fact that you aren't hooked up to machines means there's nothing much to worry about, so long as you follow his advice.
